1). Take a Break, Have Some Tea - "You shouldn't put that there."

Sanctuary, Helen/Ranna, post-canon pregnancy fic with Declan friendship.

2). Another Word For Mom - Helen felt exhausted, but couldn't fall asleep.

Sanctuary, Helen & Henry right before Ashley is born and Helen is worried about the role she has in Henry's life and that she's destroyed the chance to be his mother.

3.) Untitled Emotional Compass Drabbles Fic - "I don't want to your ruin day…"

Sanctuary, Helen/Will, the little moments that lead up to falling in love.

4.) Untitled Trottie & Book Drabbles Fic - "You really shouldn't drink them. It can ruin your eyesight."

Memories the Season Brings - Trying very hard not to cry in a hallway was not something that Helen had thought would be part of her day, week, or month, but here she was, leaning against the wall, tucked away from the prying eyes of the rest of the Sanctuary, tilting her head back and wiping her eyes, sniffling as she tried to stop the tears from overflowing.

Sanctuary, Helen/John holiday fic. John comforts Helen as she misses Ashley during the first holiday season without her. Christmas cookies are involved.

10). Peppermint Hot Chocolate - The sound of John teleporting back was barely detectable to the ear, but Helen had been attuned to it for so long, she knew the moment he had returned to fetch her, the last of their group to be taken home now that they had finished their work here.

Hey!! 😊 for the wip ask game, I'd love to hear more about your bookish kids fic since you seem to be really enjoying the show at the moment, also if there is another one you want to talk about im all ears : )

My Bookish Kids Fic is an AU where the main characters, Book and Trottie, have kids, based off a dream I had.

Book and Trottie are in a lavender marriage and in their fifties but I'm ignoring that part and the kids aren't Book's biologically, but he is their dad. Their kids, who I've named Penny and Aggie are less than a year apart in age, so a lot of the fic focuses on them dealing with late parenthood with kids so close together!

I have published two pieces here and here, if you're curious for more, but here's a snippet I haven't published yet!

Trottie was reclined against the headboard with her eyes closed, Aggie on her chest, one hand on the infant's back to keep her there. Penny was laying on her lap, head pillowed on Trottie's knees as if she had crawled there herself. Dog was pressed against Trottie's hip and thigh, napping as well. It was a peaceful sight and he was tempted to go and get the camera to preserve it, though the flash would probably disturb them all. So Book just leaned there, taking it in. His wife. Their children. His girls. Book had never imagined that he would have children in any capacity, hadn't thought it was an option, but life had a strange way of contradicting those imaginings. Penny and Aggie were his. Sometimes Book thought that may have been for better or for worse, for them. He wondered, as he sometimes did, when they would tell the girls of his and Trottie's arrangement. If they ever should. For now things remained as they always had been for the most part and he clung to that, though he knew in the years to come that it would not. One day he would like to be honest with their daughters about himself. About the arrangement he and Trottie had. About how exactly Jack was family. He didn't want to lie about who he was to two of the most important people in his world. They deserved honesty. But that honesty could be devastating. Book hoped he and Trottie would rear them with open minds and hearts, but people formed their own opinions, especially when society and law contradicted what their parents taught them. While Book could never imagine either Penny or Aggie being hateful over such a thing--over anything, truly, young as they were--he would not fault them for a reaction like Jack had had. To be told that their parents had been presenting a facade to them their entire lives could hurt, no matter the understanding. And what would he and Trottie do if that honesty came to the obvious question of their paternity? Would they lie and say that they had managed it together? A new lie in place of the old, but honesty could shatter their world. Shatter their trust in them. In Book, certainly. Most likely in Trottie. And honesty would reveal they were half-siblings as well. Such revelations would be wholly devastating and Book was ashamed to admit that he feared if they ever shared them that he would lose their daughters forever. That he would never be their father again, even though he was their father, in every way that mattered.

And since you gave me the option...I want to talk a little about the Sanctuary fic! It's from Ashley's point of view when she's seven and she, John, Helen, Henry, Gregory, Ranna, Nigel, Jeanette, Anna, and Ranna are on the Oregon Trail, having been ditched by the wagon train (and Nikola, who went with the train) because their women were considered too wild and not obedient (and ungodly, pretty much). They're trying to survive on their own and Ashley basically thinks that every bad thing that's happened is her fault because they were abandoned soon after she did something "bad" (bit a woman who was being nasty to her and Helen).

Ashley waited to hear if they would bring up going back, but no one did. Eventually, the adults went to bed, one by one, until only her parents were left around the fire. She watched as her mother stood and squeezed her father's shoulder. "We'll be all right, John. We always are." "We haven't been." "We will be, then." Finally, it was just her father's outline against the tent wall and Ashley pictured him, hat on his head even though the sun was gone, his rifle propped next to him, just in case someone or something came for them in the night. She felt comforted seeing his shadow, knowing he was keeping them safe, though tonight she watched him pace around, restless and angry, feelings that Ashley felt herself a lot too. Henry and Anna stopped talking and Ashley moved away from the wall to cuddle with her brother for warmth now that the talking had stopped and it was quiet enough to actually sleep. "Henry?" she whispered. "What, Ash?" he murmured, putting his arm around her. Ashley tried to work out the words that she wanted to say. She wanted to ask him if he thought she was ungodly. A devil child. She wanted to ask him if he knew that this was all her fault. She wanted to ask him if he smelled the blood like she did or thought about that grave marker under the tree, the baby that should have been the baby of their family instead of her. If he thought about Uncle Nikola, even though they weren't supposed to. But she didn't know how to say any of those things. "Good night." she whispered instead. "Good night."

✏️ Do you write every day?

I used to. Not really anymore, though, because I've been having a hard time with a lot of things and my writing has kind of poofed.

🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).

Posting my first Bookish fic before the show premiered in the US! I felt really proud of that.

Also the WIP I'm poking at for Bookish, where there are kids. I posted a piece of it on here the other day and I'm having some fun with it, so I'm proud of that.

Um, I can't figure out what that :D emoji is supposed to be, so I'm guessing this one. 🌝 Who is one character you haven’t yet written for that you would like to?

Trottie from Bookish! I mean, I have written her from someone else's viewpoint, but I'd really like to write from her viewpoint and I haven't yet. She's a really interesting character.

📚 Do you read your own fic?

All the time! Certain fics I avoid just because I'm not too fond of them, but I reread my writing a ton! I wrote most of the fics for me, after all. :)

🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

A non-linear modern AU from Helen's viewpoint, about her throughout her life. No abnormals, but everything kind of twisted to be "normal". I'm imagining it ranging maybe from snippets when she was a teen to when Ashley is grown. The hardships she ends up facing with fiance accused of horrible things, being a single mother, little Ashley wanting to know if her father was a bad man, things like that.

The only solid idea I have for it (and I haven't even written it down yet!) is Helen and her relation to the word "fuck". How she doesn't like using it because she finds it in poor taste and poor vocabulary, but the instances in her life where she applies it. (mostly sexual means, in which she views "fucking" as sex without anything else in the mix, but also a few instances where she really, really needs to just actually use that word to messed up situations and ends up doing so).

The only line I have in my head right now is "Ranna fucked her father." And Helen is pissed and maybe a little betrayed because her friend and university roommate (and the first girl she had a crush on) ends up having a romantic relationship with her father. (Ranna is fully an adult by the time she even meets Gregory, just to clear that up). And basically it continues through the years, Helen using the word rarely, but in times where it feels like parts of her world are crashing down.
