Summer Prompt for Toby! Your OC versus a seagull trying to get their food!

Just a casual picture! There are lots of cool spots for monsters to hang out, meet up, that sort of thing.

Was there a monster or old scary story Toby's parents used to tell him as a kid to try and keep him in line?

“ahahah, Scary stories, ahaah well yes,Both.

My mum would tell me scary stories “*wiggled his fingers* *stops* “….which er were regrettably moooost likely true, she is a policewomen, so she would know lots of horror stories ‘like that’, she’s seen a fewthings, and when i was old enough she’d tell me some of them…”

*pause*

“ok maybe it would be better toseparate them out”

“first you have true crime stories,people getting drunk and knocked over by a car, or tripping and hurtingthemselves, or a person taking drugs and believing they could fly, aaand welldo I really need to say more on that”

*gives all a ‘look’*

“Then there are family history stories,most of these are from my mum…passed down from generation to generation.” *claps his hands and smiles happily, a slight ‘eye twitch’*“Obviously we are invisible, so a lot of those stories were careful now don’tbe like you uncle Grelock who collapsed in the woods on his own, and wasn’tfound again,” apparently people just thought someone just left clothes inforest.”“Or like William, Mel? Who got into a knife fight, [or was maybe running withscissors I’ve heard both] and got stabbed, but no one knew he cut themselvesand almost bled to death”“careful out in the ocean if you get swept out you may never be found again”

*long pause*

“I’m a little surprised I’m not moreterrified of the outside world.”

“ooh and there’s one other thing, mymum told all of us, it’s not so much a story, but it was kind of big at thetime.. but again because we are invisible there is a certain reputation thatcomes along with that, as well as some truth, some of ancestors were thieves,times as they were it was probably difficult to make a living as they were orthey were forced to by unscrupulous people. As such where we are today a lotour family have greatly distance ourselves from this reputation, but if any ofus decide to taking up thieving we will be disowned and ostracized. Me, mysister and brother all got that same talk, it was surprisingly…more terrifyingthen you would imagine”

*long pause* “hm”

“Now my dad’s stories were completelydifferent more scary stories and monster, myths and legends….i’m honestlyscared that some might be a little true…”

*nervous laugh*

“when we were younger to stop us fromrunning off on our own, or stray too far, or when we were older, just to becareful and more aware of certain things when we were on our own, he’d tell us certain stories.”“when it’s cold and the ice freezes and you hear someone  playing a violin you do not go on the ice, itis too thin, you leave, or the Nøkken will get you.”

“stay away from huts in the forest,unless you know it’s a relative, after all you wouldn’t want a strangerbadgering you in the woods. Honestly it was a lot of avoid strangers in thewoods, especially if they’re pretty or near a cave, waterfall or cave.”

“Because of some of these stories, Ihave some fun little …ah superstitions. Like I always leave shoes at the end ofmy bed and a horseshoe near my front door, and, mostly, when I go to visit somerelatives out in the country I always set out some food for Nisse .”

“…yes, that’s those.”

Attention San Monstroso!

It’s come to our attention that an issue has stirred up, and is being dealt with occurring as we speak. What issue is that?

Copying/Stealing/Heavily taking aspects of someone else’s OC into your own.

That’s not cool, and our community does not tolerate such acts. Just because we have moved on from the previous community, it does not mean you may take characters or other aspects from it that do not belong to you.

These OCs created by the original creators mean a lot to them, any OC would mean a lot to their creator. Taking that idea or blatantly copying the OC would make any creator feel upset.

We would also like to include one final thing: please ask a species creator before hand if you would like to make an OC within their species. You never know if they want a closed or an open species, just please be considerate.
