The Alvalade station opened to the public in 1972, encompassing the construction of the 4th phase of the 1st echelon of the network, which ran from 1966 to 1972. In architectural and artistic terms, it followed the global guidelines applied to this enterprise, the person responsible for the architectural project was Arq. º Dinis Gomes and the author of the tile coating was the painter Maria Keil.
