The plastic intervention integrated in the renovation / expansion of the Alvalade station was in charge of the visual artist Bela Silva and the production was carried out at Fábrica Viuva Lamego.

The records that are extracted after a reading of the new space of the station translate an intervention that extends over a new area of 300 m2 of tiles painted by hand using the majolica technique. The theme transposed to the "screen" is women, animals, the game of seduction.

The artist reveals to us that some details are inspired by the traditional Portuguese history “O MACACO DO RABO CORTADO, that made a razor from the tail, the knife made a sardine… that appeared in our primary book”.

Thus, on one of the panels, the ape appears suspicious looking at the scissors and the sardines. In another panel, the theme of the night, symbolized by the owl, a mysterious animal, a silent voyeur. In the larger panel the girls play belle epoque.

From the global reading results the intention assumed by the artist that «this» public art interacts with the public and stimulates the collective imagination. It results in an appealing intensity of panels with strong and cheerful colors and that tell stories.
