★ drabble challenge : write write a drabble/starter about our characters… based on the song “My Flower” by Ladies’ Code
“Come back,” Seungcheol whispers, “Just stay alittle longer.” But the younger is already on his way out, back turned to him andwalking away. “Jisoo it’s raining out there.”
“Better there than here.”
Seungcheol tries to pretend that the words didn’thurt. “Jisoo–”
But the rest of his words is drowned out when Jisoo opens the door and the sound of the thundering storm floods theroom. Just as quickly the door slams shut and it’s quiet again. The small roomthat once held two is suddenly too big for its single occupant.
Seungcheol falls back onto his sofa, willing thetears not to fall.
He knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Hehad hoped it would be later – much, much later in the future when whatever theywere building would be too strong to break – but things never quite go theway we want them to.
Seungcheol closes his eyes and all he can see is thefield. The field and Jisoo’s smile as he runs through the wildflowers, lookingso much like one himself that it makes Seungcheol want to yell in joy and hashis heart racing out of his chest. Jisoo, who is pain and beauty all at once.
Jisoo who is not his but somehow became hiseverything.
Whatever friendship they had been planting wasfragile and cautious but it was blooming. Seungcheol made sure to nurture itand care for it like it was a baby bird with a broken wing.
But because of one silly mistake, it withered.
And now all Seungcheol could think about is howempty the field will be without its special flower.

★ head cannon challenge : the emoticon they’d use most often
😂😭🙄
Seungcheol is all about the extremes
★hc ★hc
★ head cannon challenge : the one place they sometimes end up falling asleep — where they’re not supposed to
In school in the middle of class because the lesson is way too boring and Seungcheol’s tired from a particularly rigorous basketball practice or a long night at work the day before
★ head cannon challenge : the game they’d destroy everyone else at
Not to sound like a total jock but, basketball. He’s not the Captain for no reason.
starter challenge: write a starter about our characters... based on the song ‘Is There Somewhere’ by Halsey
@ea-jisoo
the promise, that jisoo mentally made, was to never act as if they were anything more than acquaintances, that if they see each other out there, anywhere, they wave, smile and it ends there.
turns out, jisoo was horrible at promises himself.
he should have called foul, shouldn’t have agreed when he was offered to be brought to a place, he usually wouldn’t, and he would have put in rational thoughts, like he always does, reject the offer and return to his accommodation for a good nap. he shouldn’t have agreed to going for some nightwalk of sorts and to end up in such an open location, lying in an open field while gazing at stars.
they were just acquaintances, seungcheol and him, were just a rank above strangers.
acquaintances, he reminds himself, through his eye-lids fluttering shut as he leaned a tad bit too close, his fingers finding its way to the other boy’s, small nudges, perhaps hinting to intertwine them. and he’s too tired to hear his mind protest, wrong, wrong wrong wrong, this is wrong, they’re acquaintances. they don’t know each other outside of the other’s name and visuals, jisoo doesn’t even know his favourite food, his rank numbers, his age. he shouldn’t commit to someone he barely knew, he shouldn’t take this risk.
but maybe, just for tonight, just for this spot, he could let loose, bury his head and forget. what people don’t know can’t hurt him. he could take in a whiff of seungcheol’s scent and forget those numbers. just for tonight.
Seungcheol takes the younger’s hand slowly, carefully, making sure not to wake the sleeping boy because he knows if he doesn’t take it now, he may not be able to take his hand ever. His fingers seem to fit perfectly in the spaces between Jisoo’s, and that thought alone makes Seungcheol’s heart flutter, his gut curdle.
Seungcheol feels like a kid with a crush.
Scratch that – Seungcheol is a kid with a crush.
Seungcheol knows exactly two things about Jisoo: One, that his name is Jisoo; and two, that Jisoo lives in Field and can only live in Field. Everything else is a mystery. And yet here Seungcheol was, asking Jisoo on walks, holding Jisoo in his arms, feeling his own heart call out for this wide-eyed, almost always terrified boy whom he knew nothing about.
Seungcheol wouldn’t call himself someone who falls easily but he seems to be doing a darn good job at that with Jisoo.
He traces the lines under the younger’s eyes; there were dark, heavy bags under them and Jisoo sighed when he felt the touch. The boy must be tired. Seungcheol wonders what Jisoo does for a living. Seungcheol wonders exactly where he lives. Seungcheol suddenly has so many questions, so many things he wants to ask Jisoo, but he knows that he cannot because once Jisoo wakes up the boy would be on his way with a fleeting smile, just like he always gives Seungcheol when they bump in the streets, and Seungcheol would be left with the words hanging on his lips never to fall.
Seungcheol sighs. He wonders what he would have to do to get Jisoo to open up to him.
Around them the tall grass swayed in the night breeze. Jisoo shivers and Seungcheol pulls him a little closer to ward of the cold. At the same time Seungcheol leans down to breathe in his scent.
In a few hours it would be light again and they would go on their separate ways.
But for the few hours till then, Seungcheol will pretend that Jisoo would like to stay in his arms for longer than that.
