hey, is it alright if i reach up to 15k but finish it after the August? Or must I finish the entire fic before AUgust?

The story does need to be complete upon posting. You can definitely continue it in a sequel after, but the story should be able to stand on its own when it goes up in August.

how do i find a suitable beta?

There’s a few ways!

If you’re wanting to use one of the betas who’ve signed up specifically: 

You can look over the Current Beta List for someone who looks promising and reach out to them.

You can make a post with some general information about your story and tag it “ts storytime beta search” as betas are checking that tag regularly. 

You can also make the post and tag a few of the betas from the list if you’re nervous about messaging them!

Hello to you too frand! :D  I’m doing okay!  Busy with things that I keep ignoring and stuff but other than that, doing okay!  And thank you so much!  I’m hoping that once this next month or so finishes I’ll be able to write fun things more again (who knows, it might be after the semester finishes)!  I feel like I’ve been saying that forever now but it just never endssss.

The full schedule is below, but the short answer is August. You’ll have an assigned posting date so we don’t have all the stories go up on the same day and overwhelm the readers, but that date can be anytime from August 1st on.

What’s the schedule look like?{ Feb 1st } - Writer Sign Ups open.{ Feb 1st } - Artist Sign Ups open.{ Feb 1st } - Beta Reader Sign Ups open.{ Feb 28th } - Writer Sign Ups close.{ March 22nd } - First mandatory writer check-in.{ March 22nd } - Beta volunteer list posted. { April 19th } - Artist Sign Ups close.{ April 26th } - Artist check-in.{ May 1st-10th } - Second mandatory writer check-in and anonymous summaries submitted.{ May 13th } - Anonymous story summaries posted for artists to view.{ May 18th-19th } - Artist/writer matching. (Writers must share all their work/rough drafts with their artist at this point.){ June 10th } - Mandatory artist/writer check-in. To establish that things are running smoothly and the allotted artists/writers are working together on their submissions–and to assign pinch hitters if needed.{ July 14th-21st } - Final mandatory check-in for writers and artists. You will need to confirm your final participation.{ July 28th } - Posting schedule announced.{ August 1 } - Big Bang goes live!!! Posting will take place from August 1st, with 1 or 2 posts per day and throughout the month, dependent on how many participants finish. A masterlist of all posts will go up once all posts are made.
