Circa August 1990, Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Coronado. I was 17-years old and I was a member of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Crops. I held the rank of Chief Petty Officer. I earned an opportunity to train with SEAL Team 1. I underwent a condensed version of BUD/S Phase 1. Within a 14-day period I had knocked out what is termed IBS (Inflatable Boat Small) Surf Passage, Cast & Recovery, Several turns at the O-Course, Repelling, Drown Proofing, surf/log PT as well as live fire exercises. The culmination of which was a "Mini-Hell Night" in which we had been up for approximately 48-hours straight and underwent a multitude of stressors. In preparation of this training, in the preceding 12-months, I had joined & competed in my high school cross country and swim teams as well as ran the Honolulu Marathon in December of 1989 sub 4. Mind you the aforementioned was completed after having surgery on my left shoulder in April of 1989 in order to remedy multiple shoulder dislocations due to JV Football tackling drills. I post this in honor of the completion of my 7th year as a licensed real estate agent. I earned my license on 08/27/13. I've engaged in a multitude of endeavors as a Naval Officer, as a Deputy Probation Officer with the County of San Diego as well as a civilian. Without question, that which reminds me on a daily basis of my time with SEAL Team 1 is my current profession as a successful realtor. When one strips away the bravado of the training, the core of what the SEAL's are about is "Motivation." One’s ability to keep their motivation and hope through the darkest of times and to persevere no matter the adversity put before them. The older I get and the more I continue to progress in real estate, the more this training resonates with me. As a result of this training, I’ve been able to develop the ability to maintain my motivation no matter what in order to become the most prolific realtor in San Diego.
