Jane Austen + blue & pink (requested by anonymous)
Love how Dumas made sure that D’Artagnan is a man of color and gave Dantés „brown eyes and deep black hair“.
1887 and he made sure to represent people of color in his books! This is why we need to celebrate and remember authors with diverse backstory’s and origins
If anyone ever complains about modern adaptations of period stories being too „woke“ I throw The Three Musketeers, Monte Cristo and Sandition (Jane Austen) at them
favorite austen but i exclude the big three
lady susan
northanger abbey
mansfield park
persuasion
sandition
the watsons
Don’t trust people who dislike Jane Austen
Theo James already has such a strikingly beautiful face, but then he also has...everything else! I mean!
...um, haha, that being said, i think he was wrong to leave the show, Sandition. He and Charlotte should have been endgame!
An underrated part of Sandition (the unfinished novel) is that this absolute idiot rides up in a carriage, flips it over, sprains his ankle and claims that seawater will cure it, and all the while he shouldn't even be there he read an ad incorrectly.
And yet Mr. Heywood is like, "Yeah, you seem like a trustworthy caretaker of my eldest daughter. Have fun in Sandition, Charlotte!"
