Where the Monsters hide

This is one of the many sandstone cliffs found in Ledges State Park near Boone, Iowa. The sandstone is a remnant of a prehistoric sea that covered the midwest 300 million years in the past.  The cliffs were cut by meltwater when the most recent ice age created glaciers in the area, about 13,000 years ago. Archeological evidence indicates this area was inhabited by humans around 4000 years ago.
