Well here comes a tired looking orca, scooping up Shirogane before a set of gloved claws gently pet her head. This is fine. No sad wolf hours. He's gotten relatively softer thanks to his fiance, and seems pretty mindful of how he's petting the wolf in his arms.
... it’s so foreign . the past is too fresh , her memories too cruel . the idea of him being kind to her in any genuine way that he didn’t get something out of was nothing more than a hurtful joke , yet here she was being coddled by the very man she feared the most .
she trembles , she pales , & her tail tucks between her legs in preparation for the pain that doesn’t come . was this one of her traumatic dreams - or is it reality , and she’s only upsetting him by being so difficult ?

it takes all of her willpower to try and calm the erratic beating of her heart that beckons her third anxiety attack of the day . if she just focuses on the pets and not who is petting her , things ... might be okay . they have to be , right ? they never are , but maybe -- maybe this time is different ?
it takes a few moments , a few held breaths have to be released , but her ears eventually swivel & her tail lightly sways . please be genuine -- please , please .
