god I love your insight into this kind of thing butterfly. any thoughts as to how Joy of the Lannisters fits into this, as a bastard (albeit born to an unmarried, childless man) since she was presumably raised on casterly rock?

Thanks! I would not be surprised if Joy Hill’s mother Briony died in childbirth. (Because GRRM, because we know nothing else about her besides her name, and because Joy’s described as “lonely”.) Gerion had no wife or legitimate kids to worry about (well, none known to his family at least), so being responsible... ok, responsible enough, he brought Joy to the Rock. And after Gerion was lost on his mission to Valyria, even Tywin wouldn’t turn his little bastard niece out on the street, especially if Gerion (Tywin’s baby brother, some fondness there) made him promise not to do so. Joy’s bastard status doesn’t reflect badly on Tywin himself as such, and he did make arrangements for her marriage -- either to a bastard son of Walder Frey or to Raynald Westerling, either of which is a decent match for a noble bastard. And noble Lannister bastards have lived in the Rock before...

I’m sorry, but I was genuinely under the impression that the books weren’t actually racist in this scene? I understand being angry about the tv show, since it was a very white savior thing and all the slaves were portrayed as dark skinned peoples, but in the books was it not about her freeing them from slavery, not the colour of their skin? Does the fact that the slaves were multiple ethnicities not make it different from the show? (Please pardon my English)

It’s fair to say that the multitude of races and ethnicities amongst the slaves in the book scene makes it visually less heinous. However, using the books as justification for reblogging/endorsing the show scene is not an excuse. First off, the books =/= the show. Second off, the book scene is still bad lol. Dany is still the white savior figure, the slaves are infantilized (they call her “mother”), and they’re still submitting and deferring to Dany. It’s a Bad Scene.

My cat loves going outside. She usually goes out in the morning/afternoon, and she gets uber cranky if we keep her inside (we also have two dogs that go outside, so she gets confused seeing them go outside when she can't). She's gotten minor injuries several times though, and all the birds around here despise her (she hunts sometimes >_<). I'm trying to transition her to an indoor cat, but she doesn't understand and she's miserable. Do you have any tips to help make this easier for her and us?

Consider things from the cat’s point of view, that is why does she want to go outside?

There are lots of things present in the outside world that your cat might be seeking. If you can give her the same things inside, she’s less likely to want to go out.

Fresh or moving water

Vantage points to climb

Things to watch

Things to chase

Things to eat and chew

This takes a bit more effort on the human side, rather than just closing a door, but providing these extra things inside replaces what the cat was seeking outside, and helps keep them safe.

You can also consider harness training and outdoor enclosures to allow controlled exposure to outside.

There is lots and lots of advice online about transitioning cats to an indoor lifestyle that are worth looking at, but the basics are taking the resources your can wants and recreating them inside an environment you can control.

Please tell me about your cosplay I love it dearly how'd you make the jacket?

ooo okay well i bought the jacket just from ebay lmao,, then i found an old hoodie i had w a white hood and cut it off, sewed in on the back n bought 2 strips of orange material from a store in town and sewed them on too! 

i say i sewed it but my mom did it for me bc idk how to sew well lmfao
