What if Sangwoo burried his mother under the floor? That explains why he's so concerned/attached to it. He dosen't seem the type of dude to just let go of his mother after he killed her/she died. He didn't wanted to lose her completely, so he burried her under the wood floor so he can console himself with thinking that his mother is still with him,even though she's dead.
