It was 19:30, and as like every Wednesday evening, she was locking up the local animal shelter she helped out in thrice a week. Ariel was checking the cages one last time, before waving goodbye to the handful of dogs and cats they had there.

Switching off the lights, she grabbed her satchel and exited the small building. Locking up, and shoving the keys in her pocket. Mrs. Regers gave her, her own set so she could come by whenever she would like to. Smiling, she made her way down the street for the 10 minute walk back to her apartment.

It was already dark out but Ariel wasn't really afraid, this wasn't her first time walking home alone. Plus, the street lamps were giving light to the sidewalk. The street wasn't busy, but cars still passed by. And a few people were still milling about. A few street stores still open for people to buy their products.

Tucking her hands into the pockets of her cardigan, the air slightly chilly as they were nearing autumn already. About to pass by a dark alley, she didn't think too much into it. Her mind on what to eat for dinner instead.
