I had a dream that somebody came up to me in a panic and said "bro bro, you gotta help me! Calamity Ganon exploded my toilet!!" and I go and see what they mean and this happens.

@fractiousrvt 's current baby bastard's journey and @followthebluebell 's comments about animal jobs being 90% about poop are reminding me of the joy of cleaning juvenile opossum crates at the rehab. You would just pick up a baby and it was like squeezing a toothpaste tube. Their crates got cleaned 2-3x/day from all the poop and there was often a bath for at least one crate of babies every day. I was always relieved when our self-proclaimed opossum lady was working with me and took care of the mammal room so I could handle songbird and raptor rooms. I greatly prefer bird poop to mammal poop.

Legit hate the fact people can't just. Ya know do basic hygiene at work to keep not only themselves but also other people safe. No one wears their mask right, no one washes their hands, no one sanitizes themselves, and then they bitch and moan that they got covid/keep getting colds all the time.

Washing your hands here and there tends to help, Karen.

And also these aren't wealthy people either, they just do not care. Covid is just "here to stay" so they don't want to bother washing their hands or wearing their masks right.

My baby is starting to feel better finally, I think. He's getting anti-emetic/anti-nausea meds and has a digestive health food to eat for now. Yesterday was still a bit rough, but today was better. He ate the new kibble 4 times through the day, hasn't vomited today, hasn't had any diarrhea for the past 3-4 hours (possibly longer, but can't confirm for sure), currently has a dry butt, played with Phoebe a bit earlier, and is now cuddling me in bed again. 😭💙

I should be going to sleep, but he's between me and my pillow. I'll accept lack of sleep due to cuddly, feeling-better boy over last night's lack of sleep due to anxiety over his illness. I really hope this means he's on the mend.

Jack slept on the couch next to Spring on Tuesday night and he was quiet all night, so last night we moved his crate into my room.

He actually did amazing, tbh. He whined just a bit maybe 5 minutes after I turned off the light? And then settled down, I gave him a treat for that, and he was quiet the rest of the night as far as I know. Didn't wake me up at all!

Not sure how he's doing now that l left, he whined a bit as I was getting my stuff together in the living room, but not too bad. Hopefully he settled back down okay.

He also ate his dinner normally last night, so the upset tummy seems to have moved on. He also didn't get a chance to poop outside though, because it was raining and it took some time to convince him to even pee next to the house where it's dry. So that adds to the "quiet all night" achievement. Hopefully this all means that we're getting over the giardia and treatment and he'll be feeling much better soon! And hopefully he'll poop outside today even though it's raining again. Glad we'll be getting the run mostly done this weekend!

:( Shilo is still acting pretty good, but he was straining in the litter box again, had soft poop, and then threw up 5-ish minutes later. So definitely still going in tomorrow so we can find out wtf is going on with our poor boy. Our current guess is he got into something in the run and it either fucked his system up or maybe partial blockage? Or parasites that didn't show up on the fecal.

On the plus side, we have vet insurance on the cats, so that'll help. Gotta go look up how to file claims and such, as this will be the first time we'll use it.
