usopp.

generally , sanji actually finds usopp’s stories amusing and actively listens to them because usopp is good at telling them / keeping them engaging so sanji finds them fun. he even humors usopp occasionally with one of his own / asks questions.

though sanji may not understand half the time ( or not at all ) he still likes to hear about the latest usopp is working on. it falls into the whole small passions and hobbies that sanji likes to hear about from his crewmates.

( i can imagine sanji busy doing prep work or in general cooking and listening to usopp talk about either of these things. )

sanji is very confident in his skills in the kitchen but he also likes to experiment with new ingredients and try out the more ‘daring’ dishes so out of the few members they have usopp is one of the few sanji uses as a taste - tester. mainly because he would get more than a ‘it’s good’ from him.

nami.

nami is one of the people sanji doesn’t mind at all in the kitchen / trusts in there and actually has explained how he keeps things organized + where he keeps all the recipes + notes that go along with everyone’s tastes for just in case reasons. ( though he’s very adamant that she doesn’t need to help him out and really there shouldn’t be a reason WHY he can’t be cooking just sit and would she like a cup of coffee --- )

like usopp , nami also is a taste tester. sanji tending to give her the more extravagant dishes and even asks for opinions on presentation / what seems to be more eye catching.

he has used a handful of her tangerines before for ice cream which is usually just reserved for her. //// if it seems they’re all going to be at sea longer , sanji will consult with nami about the ships stocks + a budget for when they do stop and sanji goes to get food.

i like to think that every so often when they all are land side , they peruse the market(s) together either pointing out odd or interesting finds or they get coffee and just. talk. ( i hc that especially after the events of wci this becomes a bit more. important. ) even if they don’t talk and sit in silence it is a means of bonding.

just imagine sanji having coffee or something ready for nami in the morning while he’s prepping breakfast for the crew.

benedictus . someone is selling jewelry on the side of the road. what piece catches your muse’s eye?

nothing for himself , actually. it’s little things that he believes would look good on nami or robin ( once or twice he’s seen earrings and thought of zoro. ) there was one occasion where he saw a ring he liked but as a chef it’s impractical for him to wear them so passed by it. however , should things like sleeve clips , tie clips , and cuff links catch his eye and he happen to have extra beri then he would stop and take a look. ( particularly tie clips )

libera me . write a small drabble about why your muse is awake at 2 am.

the sounds of the sea at night are perhaps one of his favorite noises. the rock of the sunny , the crash of waves against the hull , the creaking of the ship itself. it’s these things that when together , bring a peace known to one who has spent his whole life living on ships. however regretfully , it’s not a night that he can easily enjoy.

a coil wound tight to sit upon chest , tighter and tighter and tighter —- unbearably so it springs and once sun sets and liveliness of the ship is at a rest , eyes heavy from a days work still cannot close. the tiredness that clings to sanji is not unknown , occasionally it happens. where those few hours for sleep would be spent staring up at the ceiling above instead , mind blank and restless all at once.

a weariness seeped into bones , limbs heavy from exhaustion. still sanji raises a hand , dragging it down his face , rubbing at his eyes. he debates if getting up is worth it. there’s no doubt another or two awake somewhere on the ship but then again he would hardly want anyone to see him like this. he’ll try again then. closing his eyes , breathing deeply

in —– ( dancing in his ears and behind eyelids a mocking tone , laughter as family jester plays his woeful part ).

a frustrated frown tears at his lips , heavy exhale through his nose , and restlessly he kicks his blanket away. he might as well go do something productive instead of laying there if he wasn’t going to get any sleep. quietly he creeps through the cabin and the moment he’s outside he lights up , trekking through the ship into what comforts he can find.

the banshee, is a creature from Irish Folklore. though not inherently malevolent, it is said to be a dark omen. anyway i’m here to run with sanji’s sense of smell cuz listen , he’s got that sniffer trained bro. knowing EXACTLY every ingredient in a dish ? yeah that’s canon , we already know that BUT i propose going a step above that and say his nose is a bit more sensitive than normal. not like. to the extent of chopper obvs - like he’s not gonna be able to track someone down or anything like that. in example , he’d be able to tell who is in a dark room with him simply by their scent. you know , if we ignore other reasons why like gait or speech.
