A lot of AUs or divert-canon fics where kagome is in the modern world place her in either the medical field (cause she liked to heal in the feudal era sometimes) or as a historical presence (teacher or museum), but what do you think and why???

I’m honestly a big sucker for AUs where Kagome works in the medical field, because she really is such a nurse in the series, and I think it works with her personality. She’s so caring and compassionate, I can see her putting that to good use in the medical field. I think her working in education can be interesting for similar reasons. (Plus, her being a teacher has the sweet ring of irony, considering how traumatized she was by math—and just keeping up with her studies in general—in the series. XD)

But admittedly, both of these concepts are pretty overdone by this point. It’s always nice to see an original take on what adult Kagome’s career might be in a modern setting. Like how @keichanz made her a mechanic, or how @inunanna made her a tattoo artist, or how @stoatsandweasels made her a forensic ballistics expert, or how YOU made her a marine biologist. I loved those ideas! They all felt very convincing to me as a reader. So I s’pose, as much as I like Doctor!Kagome, these days I more enjoy fics that put her in other settings and show me why it suits her.

no I get it really…there are many similarities. the only difference is that I would wrap zuko in my embrace and never let him go but I would dropkick kyle off a very tall cliff (unless he promised to introduce me to his mom…)
