ok well maybe her little finger is really cozy and honestly there are worse places to be wrapped around. did you ever think about that
'A popular fanfic author stopped updating her fic because she said that the stress of being constantly falsely accused of using AI was a witch hunt and it was destroying her mental health to the extent that she needed to take a break from writing, leading to multiple online discussions defending her and debates about AI accusations and how You Can't Really Tell So Leave Her Alone, and then someone realised that there were Claude coding artefacts in her fics and that it was a super pervasive problem in that particular fandom, proven definitively by looking at the source coding of each work on AO3, and she denied it for a bit but then ultimately admitted that oopsie, she had been using genAI all along, and then she deleted all of her fics off AO3 and people got mad because they were being denied access to their favourite fics, even though they now knew definitively that they were genAI slop, and then it turned out that she'd actually stopped updating the fic on AO3 in the first place because she'd been shopping it around to agents and editors as an original work with the serial numbers filed off, and she'd been in conversations with a publisher which ultimately got dropped because she'd lied to them about her AI use' oh cool, so we're in Hell, then
Let me be clear: if you use AI to write fanfic, paticularly if you do so in the hopes of snapping up a tradpub deal off the basis of the popularity of your worthless slop, then you are an absolute grade A ding-dong, and may the vengeful spirits of our beloved Spirk Elders haunt you via the medium of perpetual papercuts forevermore.
I am unaware of who this is referring to and feel like a small fishing boat that just saw the dorsal fin of Leviathan off the starboard bow
That is so extremely valid, and truly I wish that I had not myself plunged into the depths and seen the truth of the Leviathan (a gigantic plastic fish effigy that's broken off a derelict Fish & Chip shop and washed into the Atlantic: a harbinger of doom in its own synthetic tongue)
So many lessons in fandom and life boil down to make your own works for love of the game, don't go looking for ways to be an asshole to people, don't lie when people ask you something that challenges you to be better, and don't fucking cheat.
I tried to redraw this scene with the early inuyasha artstyle
Alt bg:
i like the concept of soulmates—not a “you’re destined to meet me, and love me” kind of soulmate, but a “i’d pick you, every time.” kind of soulmate. a “no matter what happens, and what has happened, i want to go through it with you.” kind of soulmate. a “i love you by choice, and you’re a blessing, and i’m going to continue thinking about you this way not because i have to but because i want to.” kind of soulmate. a “you help me rest easy when everything is difficult” kind of soulmate. a “in every possible outcome, i want you there, to share it with me.” kind of soulmate.
Is it normal to stare at a selfie of your smiling best friend for an hour straight?? Chapter 12 of Inevitable is now posted on AO3! (We’re almost there, I promise)
Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.

reminding myself that 7 kudos is 7 different people who have read my story and actually liked it
and idk about you but if 7 people came up to me in real life and said “hey we really liked your writing” i would just cry on the spot
Behold, the annual inukag dump! Ok bye!
Hi, I really appreciate the depth you go into when you discuss Inuyasha questions. Your knowledge of the manga and anima really shows! I was wondering if you've ever thought about the inconsistencies in Naraku's powers, from the characters' backstories to the main storyline? If he has the power to curse wind tunnels onto generations, how come he only does it once? If he can take the form of anyone well enough to deceive a dog demon, how come he never does it again?
Thank you for the sweet message!
Unfortunately for me, who loves concrete rules when it comes to world building, Rumiko Takahashi just doesn't do that. Whatever magic systems are in her stories are just there to serve the characters, story and themes. That's usually why her characters will just develop whatever abilities she thinks are necessary for the plot. Or whatever she thinks will add interesting drama or comedy.
For Naraku it's also definitely a case of "he can't be too strong because Takahashi doesn't want to end the series yet" and "Takahashi kind of forgot because it's been 5 years since she wrote that chapter", lol. In one interview she did when the anime was released, she admitted to be surprised that Inuyasha and Kagome were so antagonistic to each other at the beginning because the first chapters were ~4 years ago for her. People have also noted that she seemed to ignore some of Kagome's previous feats, to make it seem as if Kagome required a power up later on. The whole "your powers were actually reduced from birth!" plot that she introduced toward the end of the series is funny when you consider the stuff that Kagome was doing early on in the story.
So yeah, the main reason is Rumiko Takahashi wanting to prolong her series, so she has to deliberately weaken her characters in order to keep them struggling. She just never want to stop working on manga so she'd rather stretch out her ongoing series than come up with a whole new one.
Kinda random q but where do people get the idea that InuKag would be flirty and even forward with each other after marriage? Maybe I missed stuff in the story but they don’t seem like that with how flustered they get. Their moments are sincere and supportive but not flirty for me. IDK? Am I reading it wrong? (And I promise I’m just asking outta curiosity)
I mean, Inuyasha and Kagome are 15 in the canon series and they are both very inexperienced. Inuyasha had Kikyo but nothing happened with her while she was alive. They can both become more confident as they get older and as they get more comfortable with each other.
As for being forward / flirty, I would say there's some of examples of that in canon (if your definition of flirty aligns with mine).
Like Kagome playfully teasing Inuyasha:
Or Inuyasha initiating physical affection with her without much hesitation:
They are not AS flustered as people make them out to be tbh. I mean they WERE early on in the series sure, but there's nothing to really be embarrassed or uncertain about now that they're married and Kagome literally abandoned her whole life in the modern era to be with him.
Supersum - Chapter 134 is up!

Hey writers. I hate to break it to you, but sometimes the thing holding you back from writing isn't some profound piece of advice you have yet to hear. Sometimes the thing holding you back is you. Give yourself freedom to rest when you need it, but if you want to be a writer, you have to write. That means getting rid of the distractions, letting yourself get a little bored, and doing the actual writing.
There is a certain level of discipline required. I'm not saying the goal yourself 500 words a day, but I'm saying that if you want to write, you have to write, and you have to make an effort to write. You may have to carve out time to write and then be disciplined about using that time for writing.
