Also, happy 25th birthday to the Tamagotchi! You have been my number one since I discovered you in my local Toys R Us (which has since been closed down. I still tear up about going there during it’s last day). Thanks for making my life a little more cute and fun - it’s stressful trying to be a musician but you are always there for me ~
Bandai Japan Announces New Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio Set!
Seems like its the week of Sanrio over at Bandai! This time Bandai Japan has just announced a new Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio version, in an all new color which comes in a new set! If a Sanrio set sounds familiar, thats because we’ve seen this before with the Tamagotchi M!X back in 2017!
The gorgeous new shell for the Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio version is a strawberry red, which differs from the existing Sanrio Meets that is pink. This new shell will only be available in this exclusive set which also features a gorgeous limited edition strap which features both Tamagotchi and Sanrio characters and attaches to your Tamagotchi Meets. The set will be released on Saturday October 24, 2020.
Programming on the new Sanrio Meets in the box set is identical to the existing pink Sanrio Meets, so the only difference here is that gorgeous strawberry red shell, and exclusive lanyard that you can only get in this set. The previous Tamagotchi M!X set was a Toys “R” Us exclusive back in 2017, but there is no mention of exclusivity for this new Sanrio Meets. Pricing in listed as open, so no official pricing has been provided. We are sure this set will be slightly higher than the pink Sanrio Meets that is available for sale today since you are getting a lanyard in addition to the Tamagotchi itself.
Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio Event is Back for New Sanrio Meets Launch!
When Bandai Japan first released the pink Sanrio Tamagotchi Meets back in 2019 they held a three part event in the Tamagotchi Meets app. The event allowed users to visit Sanrio characters, earn prizes, and even propose for Sanrio genetics! To help celebrate the launch of the new red Sanrio Tamagotchi Meets, Bandai Japan has brought back the Sanrio event!
You can visit the Tamagotchi Meets app and see the Sanrio decorations up, including the Sanrio Puroland building in the background of the Tama Park. Hello Kitty is currently the visiting character again, visit her everyday for a present, including a fresh fruit parfait! Maybe we’ll see My Melody again?
