I’d been planning on seeing it since I saw the footage at comic-con only because rocket was super cute, but yeah I didn’t care about the mcu in a big way until I watched the winter soldier so now I’m like dying for it ;_;
True story, I didn't actually realize the MCU was a thing until recently.
Like, I saw the Avengers and knew it had a whole mess of the different characters in it, and I've been blacklisting posts about Thor/Loki/Iron Man for years. But until about a month ago, I thought it was all completely separate except for the Avengers? IDK how, I guess I just didn't really think about it. I was oblivious to how interconnected everything is, and how it's all essentially different parts of the same narrative thread .
Now though, that's kind of the biggest draw for me. I'm really only invested in a handful of the characters (Hey Steve, hey Bucky, hey Natasha), but I am just completely enamored with the MCU as a whole, and the idea of this massive and interconnected universe that is regularly producing new and quality output for its fanbase.
So many movie fandoms have to go years and years between entries, and I'm just too impatient for that. Also at this point, I need a new fandom and all my friends are doing it. ;-D

i honestly wasnt interested until their comic con panel it just looked like the dumbest movie in the best way and the cast was so excited to be there and chris pratt can literally have me any way
I was literally named after a character on an old scifi series about a band of space criminals. And Farscape has been my favorite tv series for over a decade. This has been ingrained in me since birth, so I am so, so into the very concept of the series.
It being dumb in all the right ways and starring Chris Pratt is just some sweet, sweet icing.

my favorite thing is when the superhero genre collides with aliens
I knew I could count on you to understand. <3333333333333
I actually just saw this post, and now I'm kind of tempted to read the comic books. But idk, I've never actually read a comic book before.
