asriel copies sans in his pacifist boss fight with the stupid winky shrug pose, he also has attacks that resemble sanses gaster blasters, and its implied that flowey has fought sans before. he must think that sans is Cool. and hes right

flowey gets obsessive over things he cant figure out. sans is the master of secrets. flowey wants to know everything about sans, even if being known like that isnt what sans wants. its kind of like the genocide route. the player wants to know Everything about undertale, no matter what, and no matter who it hurts

the two of them both share some kind of knowledge about the nature of the world theyre in. theyd be able to relate to eachother because of that

my current favorite scenario of them is god asriel x a trapped sans. the ultimate toxic yaoi. beauty and the beast if it was infinitely worse. your boyfriend is god and he wants to unravel you to your very core and can and will hurt you immensely. but you hold onto what little power you have by refusing to give him any concrete answers. asriel wont use his god powers to Make sans do anything, because thats Boring. but it is immensely frustrating trying to get sans to love/trust/fear him enough to Tell him secrets ((or that he loves him back!?))
