@santamonicamountainsnps is a beautiful region just outside of Los Angeles and includes beaches, mountains, and valleys. In Solstice Canyon are the #ruins of the Roberts home, built by Fred and Florence Roberts. It was designed by architect Paul R. Williams in 1952. Because the area is prone to fire, fire protection was included using an elaborate pump system. In 1982, after Fred's death, the home was destroyed by the Dayton Canyon fire because the pipes and pump system had not been maintained. Today you can walk through the property and see the remains of fireplaces, water features, exterior walls, and the detached garage.
