"that's ...specific." she can't really get a read on santos. sometimes she acts all big and bad, and there's something going on between her and langdon that makes joy think, if looks could kill, there wouldn't be anyone left to work the ed. other times, santos seems chill. kind of like a person joy could be friends with, or... something.
she isn't sure if santos is looking to banter, the way she seems to sometimes with dr. robby or dr. garcia (and what is going on there, because sometimes santos gets all doe-eyed when the surgeon walks in, but other times it's like she's a startled cat, all puffed up and hissing to make herself seem bigger). joy can banter. she can. she just doesn't want to be wrong and get her head bitten off by the second-scariest woman in the pitt. "who's the lucky parent?"
