Sanvers AU: Maggie asks Alex if she wants to walk the Gay Pride Parade

“You’ve never been?”

“No Maggie, I’ve never had the time and I didn’t exactly know I was gay until about two seconds ago” the taller women shrugged. “It wasn’t really on my list of things to go to” she finished with sarcasm.

“You want to walk it with me Danvers?” Maggie asked surprisingly nervous waiting for a slightly confused Alex to respond.

“Yeah, yeah of course babe. I just never thought of it before. This is like really important for me huh?” she smiled with hopeful eyes at her significant other.

“Well, I am more than pleased to take you to your first gay pride parade and I know how important this is” she returned the smile warmly, looking in the eyes of her beautiful girlfriend. “This parade is more than just floaties and beads…. This parade is just for people like us… so we can feel loved, supported, and validated everyday”

One thing Alex absolutely adored about Maggie Sawyer, was that she always knew the right words to say. Sometimes, Alex responded to her girlfriend with a kiss and this was one of those times.

Alex pulled her girlfriend closer with a soft kiss with smiles in between before she quickly pulled away leaving a confused Sawyer.

“Oh my God. What should I wear? I have nothing colorful Mags”

With that, Maggie laughed at the sudden serious-ness of the other women.

“We got some shopping for rainbows to do.”
