Apparently I haven’t been following you long enough to be able to reply to your note, but that’s an interesting thought! It hadn’t occurred to me that the death was anything but real, but it did seem like an abrupt departure for the second-or third-most principal character since season one. The whole season’s been a bit uneven for me. I still haven’t really grasped that was-he-Odin-or-not storyline. If I had to guess, I’d say that something’s going to happen with Ragnar and Athelstan’s son that the king of Wessex for some reason wants to make semi-divine (?!?!?) Maybe he’ll end up making true peace between the pagans and the Chrsitians? I think it will all come down to that conversation they had at the ball, about both the king of Wessex and Ragnar being essentially good men but corrupt, although I have no clue how it will play out. Based on the seer’s prediction, it seems like Ragnar’s group will reach France and Rollo will marry into royalty, but who knows? I don’t know if I’ll watch the next season, but there are a lot of questions I would like to see answered.
As for Floki, I liked him when he was comic relief. I think his character’s really changed, and not in a good way, since the first season.
