Sapback - Warrior

Sapback grew up in a loving family, and quickly took after his parents' confidence and helpful attitudes around camp. He was close with his only littermate, Amberpatch, and was lucky enough to fall in love when he was a young warrior. He had developed a crush on an older apprentice, Barnaclepaw, when he first started his own apprenticeship.
Barnaclepaw was training as a mediator rather than a warrior, although he had shown great promise in hunting and fighting. Sappaw had been curious about this because he had put aside his own strengths in communication and relationships in order to provide for his clan as a warrior. The two of them would often give each other advice to further their training. When Sapback earned his warrior name, he had Barnaclepetal to thank.
The two young toms spent so much time together that they naturally became quite affectionate with each other. Pet names turned into promises, and before they knew it they had tumbled into love. Becoming mates was as easy a choice as breathing for them. They celebrated an official mateship for two moons before Barnaclepetal tragically succumbed to greencough.
Sapback didn't have the heart to think about love again in the years following Barnaclepetal's death. He was young, and claimed to be willing to move on, but he found himself more focused on his work and his family. He was grateful that his parents and sister were all immensely supportive of him. They even welcomed two new family members, Pelicankit and Tumblekit.
Sapback was suddenly parted from him family when his patrol was ambushed by rogues. He joined Starlcan soon after, where he was immedaitely greeted and soothed by Barnaclepetal. He was relieved to have his love by his side again, but saddened to leave his family without a chance to say goodbye.
