Hello! I know Estelle was wearing one of Victoria's old dresses on Victoriadagen, but the blouse she was wearing at the concert the night before looked like something vintage as well. Wondering if you know its origins, as you seem to be so good at sleuthing these things out.

Hey :) It definitely looks like it could be a vintage piece. The bib at the front is very 80s, it was a detail on the dress Estelle wore as well! But it’s actually a new piece from Bonpoint (according to UFO No More). Clearly 80s fashion is just back in style haha

I’m in grad school so adjusting to the nonstop pace and New England winters. But thankful for new friends in the crazy!

It’s been an odd winter and we’ve had almost no snow here near Boston. At least the sun sets after 5 pm now. Hope the rest of the semester goes swimmingly. :)

Its sounds like Prince Phillip had a say in the type of funeral he wanted (e.g. not a state funeral) and those will be respected. Does the reigning monarch get this type of say or is it automatic due to position. Like could HM potentially choose something else? What role would her wishes play in the planning of her funeral?

Hello :) Well there is no law that forces anyone to have any specific kind of funeral but I can’t imagine a monarch not doing a state funeral now unless there were extreme extenuating circumstances (like if HM had died at the height of the pandemic). If you've served successfully as monarch you're likely to understand it's expected of you; it’s about the people and the country. And it’s not unique to royalty, it’s part of being head of state or a prominent individual. It’s expected as part of the duty for many countries and offices

I was looking through your princess diaries tag and realized we have the same questions about how the royal structure in the movies work (e.g. reigning dowager??), but have you read the books? I read them recently and realized they make much more sense (essentially the same set up as if they had been about Jazmin Grimaldi) since the dad is alive.

I did read all the books as a teenager, I loved them. They definitely make more sense. Also I love Julie Andrews, but the Grandmere in the books is a smoker and drinker who is a bit of a bitch in a brilliant way. I always imagined Elaine Stritch:

Victoria’s Polar prize dress is growing on me. I’ve loved how dreamy and yet edgy it was at the same time. The top was at first a bit to voluminous for me. But it’s growing on me and now I just love the whole look!
