I love how the "Finnish people are weird and sadistic " meme goes all the way back to the 70's.

Some kinda critical thoughts about The Dragon Prince I've been pondering probably too much. Feel free to disagree!
I've written pages upon pages on why seasons 1-3 of The Dragon Prince works and even more pages on why s4-7 of The Dragon Prince doesn't work but the main problem is pacing and the pacing suffers because show just isn't given enough episodes by the investors/ distributors. Thanks capitalism, thanks netflix...
Still, some choices from the creators' behalf are still extremely confusing to me:
1-why give the second arc an A, B AND a C plot??? There just isn't enough time for all of these story arcs.
2- I say this as s someone who isn't a Rayllum fan but this is def something the shippers and non-shippers can agree on: their will-they-won't-they is pretty frustrating to watch.
3-Look, I was not opposed to Rayla leaving. She has clearly internalised that loving people means leaving them and thus protecting them from the evils of the world. This kind of avoidant temperament is EXTREMELY INTERESTING in a character. But TDP didn't really do anything with these themes and character beats.
4-Because of the Rayllum story mess the show forgot that Ezran existed at all for 3 seasons.
5-I think Callum's character was at his best in arc 1 when he interacted with Ezran and when he was forced to grow up quickly to support his brother. Same with Ezran. Where did all of that go?
6-Actually the emotional bonds between the Dragang feel.. kind of hollow? I thought these guys were supposed to be friends.
7-Karim is too similar to Viren as a villain and his motivations don't have enough time to get established.
8-It felt like they gave Aaravos like three different goals that didn't connect at all. Also Aaravos was kind of lame when he actually got the spot light (I'm sorry babe it needs to be said).
9(?)-Aaravos and Viren should have had crazy gay sex... : (
Viravos is not a crack ship.
My reasoning:
If random straight guy youtubers frequently point out how gay two male characters are together, it's not a crack ship. It's subtext.
I call this Random Straight Guy Youtuber Points Out How Gay Two Male Characters Are Together -test. (copyright by me. donut steal)
They had to kill off Viren in s6 of The Dragon Prince 'cause seeing him and Aaravos finally fuck in The Dragon King would've been too powerful.
Only thing I want from The Dragon King is Claudia to learn that Aaravos killed Viren and Aaravos suffering the consequences of Claudia hating him < 3
If I had a YouTube channel I'd only make 4 hours long videos about how TDP is kinda not-very-smart-nor-good yet it still changed me in a way I'll never comprehend.
my first experience with Berserk was my friend's dad accidentally buying one of the volumes for us when we were like twelve and I read a couple of pages and then refused to read more because in my tween mind it was just fighting and angry men with big swords which I hated because those were boy things and in my mind things boys liked were lame and stupid so that manga must have been lame and stupid.
image text: broke: Black Butler is a totally normal series
woke: Black Butler is yaoi bait
bespoke: Black Butler is yuri bait- Ciel gets constantly saved, dominated and outsmarted by girls who are usually stronger and older than him.
Ciel is just a typical yuri little sister -archetype. He's so androgynous so does his gender even matter anymore?
