Dispassionate Justice? Charmed discussion
Ok y'all. I really want to talk about this in regards to the Elders and thier actions regarding rules and punishment. IMO they are the dispassionate justice argument. In that justice should make no exception, be rigid, and dispassionate. Not something done out of spite or for retribution, but just very cold. In mind the Elders are not evil, but the organization as a whole is not one based on compassion, which is suffering with others and relating to the situation.
Here's the thing though....Is an organization which runs on dispassion rather than compassion more inclined to coldness and cruelty than an organization which does not have some form of dispassion or separation of overzelousness?
Like the Sarcana might be backing a person who may end up blowing up the world or doing something on a similar bad scale, because they run soley on a mission of action. See evil, stop evil in all forms regardless of certain rules. Both of these organization are susceptible to corruption and both probably have very cold members (those who believe in the mission without wavering).
So can elders be reformed, is it really all or nothing with the Sarcana? Marisol was an elder but she had ties to the Sarcana and Harry has people feeding him info still, so obviously there are more open minded Elders, but the top leaders or maybe a majority of them are more rigid?
How do y'all see them? I feel a little biased, from a rational stand point they had every right to "fire" Harry, but I love him so much that even though he did drop the ball I think his dedication/loyalty to the sisters is too much of a good quality to just throw away. I believe in second chances, though it seems that at least many or the top Elders do not.
Both organizations seem like they need to work on some stuff.
