I was surprised to find these yesterday, while I was in Bisbee AZ. There was a while, where I would see plumb bobs all the time, until I decided I wanted one too, then I'd never see them anywhere. I was happy to find this one, with a holster. And I have the Stanley scraper like this, but not with the wood sole, so I was happy to find is as well, from the same vendor. #antiquetools #toolrestoration #sargentplanes #sargent

Sargent 1414 'HERCULES' Jack Plane Restoration Update: I managed to get the body cleaned, polished,and back in shape. The sole needed a good bit of truing up, and both the toe and heel show heavy wear. Much of this may be due to the fact this is a low-end market line, so the machining during manufacture was most likely a bit rough. But, it's NOT a Bailey (Bite me, Tool Snobs), so I have no gripes. It's a user, not something to gather dust on a display shelf.

The Frog, Cap Iron, and Cutting Iron need some serious attention, so since I'm avoiding the human race at the moment, I may as well get started.
