@sartreuse Instagram story
Amsterdam, July 2016.
I have been encouraged by two wonderful and adorably chic ladies @theotherway (Kimberley) and @sartreuse (Nicky) to go on and pick things up with blogging again. To be honest, I have been rather reluctant (and quite busy) to post as I have become more and more self-conscious about my purpose in doing this. I was somewhat too afraid that my inputs are meaningless into an already very busy blogsphere on life & style.
But hey, here we are. The original purpose for me to write and post was to share my journal in a very personal and hopefully most authentic way as possible. I sort of have forgotten all about it. Can I be blamed for it? I can’t help but compare with how so many other blogs out there are way better than mine but I now have the courage to still want to pursue this and hope that you’ll enjoy it :)
To start, I’d like to drop a few lines on my current trip to Europe. I landed in Paris last sunday but took the TGV to Brussels and attended the Rock Werchter 2016 just for the last day of the festival. What a fun night and how I really enjoyed Florence and the Machine. To see her sing and dance live was simply amazing! We drove to sleep in Amsterdam then the following day met with Nicky and her boyfriend Benjamin. It was a great pleasure to meet both of them as they are such an amazing couple and awesome individuals. We had great conversations, drinks, and laughter on this beautiful terrace at Cafe Thijssen. Life is simply great this way.
I love walking by these streets like Haarlemmerdijk where there are a myriad of tiny boutiques and eateries. We were recommended by this Dutch-French couple (coincidentally like mine too) to have a bite at de Pizzabakkers or the Movies. Since the Movies which has a restaurant for dinning at the movies was closed that day, we decided to head to this attractive pizza place. And yes! It was absolutely delish so I highly recommend it.
On a side note, my outfit was rather ... meh. I got kicked out of the hotel for snoozing passed check out time so I threw on whatever was available. I was wearing an APC navy cardigan, a Theory striped tee, a new pair of Paige bootcut (apparently needs to be broken into as I really dislike the feeling of new clothing) and Castaner espadrilles, which are simply perfect for summer in style. I also carried the Celine Trio (not visible) and my scarf/pareo is from a small boutique in Barcelona which I acquired on my trip last summer.
It’s great to be back and writing again. Until next time. Have a lovely beginning of summer!
