Yokai, by Lorenzo Colangeli.
Kitsune and the Pantheon
(I have yet to make a full design for Sarugami)
The Pantheon are a mysterious group of powerful yokai who claim themselves to be demigods, with their gift of immortality and immense mystic powers that differentiate them from the rest of yokaikind. It is even said that they were the first yokai to ever exist.
Kitsune: A fox yokai who is the eldest of the Pantheon. She is known for her variety of mystic powers and tricks. She is first seen in the Shredder Arc, where she is Shredder's right hand (other than Tatsu). She is then seen again in the Baron Draxum Arc, where she is Draxum's right hand.
Tengu: An eagle yokai who is the second eldest of the Pantheon. He is known for his mystic powers in powerful weather-like abilities (thunder, earthquakes, etc.). He takes his duties more seriously.
Bakeneko: A cat yokai who is the youngest of the Pantheon. They are known for shapeshifting and playing with fire. They are very mischievous.
Nure-onna: A snake yokai who is the second youngest of the Pantheon. She is known for her deadly poison and cataclysmic powers (yes this is based off of Cat Noir, shut up). She is very scary.
Sarugami: A monkey yokai who is the middle sibling of the Pantheon. He is known for his immense strength. He does not speak at all.
Hinoenma: ?
And they all share one goal:
To free their father, Ryujin, and destroy the world.
(Also, you may notice that, excluding Kitsune, the other Pantheon members may look familiar from a specific movie).
desingn for @spectatorsatori in exchange for some advice.
King of Jewels. Art by Spencer, from Bonds Across Time: An Inuyasha Tarot.
My pieces for @InuyashaTarot I got the pleasure of drawing Totosai for The Hermit card and Sarugami for The King of Jewels (Pentacles).
A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 483
MY 10 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 483:
Moment 1: Kondou being a brave little badass even as a young brat.
Moment 2: Hijikata seeing right through Kondou and understanding him even without Kondou having to voice his true thoughts.
Moment 3: I thought they killed him; I was kinda horrified at the thought that Kondou just be faced with his bloodied corpse.
Moment 4: He IS stronger! He is the SUN of the Shinsengumi!
Moment 5: Hijikata and the Shinsengumi’s devotion to Kondou never fails to touch me. I just wish Sougo was present as well, but I understand that this was really about Kondou and Hijikata’s relationship and how close they are.
Moment 6: Love his cool AF entrance.
Moment 7: As usual, when Kondou is being a total badass, I wish so much that Tae-chan was around to see it so that she could finally fall in love with him.
Moment 8: Here is where I started to get a little teary-eyed...
Moment 9: ...and here is when I totally lost it.
Moment 10: I love this gorilla. I’m glad he got to meet his sensei again and was with him in his last moments.
SHIPS TALLY:
Kondou x Hijikata: even though I don’t ship them, I do really love their close relationship and I completely understand why folks would ship them. It’s obvious that while everyone in the Shinsengumi is devoted to Kondou, he is ultimately the closest to Hijikata, who also knows him the best.
Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just so freaking amazing. It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s generosity that I can enjoy Gintama on yet another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.
