You are correct. I was giving out a few examples of things that I've specifically seen in names of teas. The names of Tazo teas don't seem to be as appropriative as their packaging, which makes reference to "the way" and karma, and there is a sentence on the box "Tazo takes many forms" which makes me think they are trying compare Tazo to Tao. And their marketing talks about ~enlightenment~ as if it's something you can buy, even more than Yogi tea does. :/

Oh, and there is also tea called Tazo Zen. I forgot about that one until now. Ugh. Zen is a meditative practice, not a fucking commodity. ;_;

So yeah, Tazo does a whole lot of gross appropriation of Buddhist and Taoist concepts. In order to SELL their tea. The irony makes me extremely angry.

You should try out Rishi Tea. They’re delicious, don’t require you to leave the room to purchase them, and sample size bags (~ 1 oz.) are fairly cheap. The teas are also given fairly obvious, non-appropriative names, like “Peach Oolong.”

I like straightforward names! :D
