#Autocross in @facinaturu 's Mini Maki. I did pretty well for the 1st time driving the Mini Cooper. I had a time of 56.8seconds which was good for 3rd place in the Novice Class. The automatic transmissiom kept changing to 3rd gear even when I keep it in M2 though. Still fun nonetheless 😊. Short-Ass Scares & Chocolate Eclairs -- Blaine&Jacques

There was no point denying it; Blaine was intrigued by the older male he had been talking to over Tumbr. While he didn’t know much about Jacques, and certainly did not believe that an ability made up everything about a person, there was something about what the other could do which had caught Blaine’s attention and, through the whole chaos of moving to a new school and settling in and auditioning for the school musical (something he wasn’t entirely sure about, still, but oh well). Illusions based on fear, or something of the sort… it was fascinating. Illusions were, really, the idea that you could create whole worlds within another person’s mind… he found it too interesting too properly comprehend.

The only thing he wasn’t entirely sure about with this fear mutant was his interest in his own ability. Blaine had never yet met someone who was interested in what he could do for a good reason of their own. After all… his uncle, and his uncle’s friends… once they had realised that anything they said ‘I wish’ in front of came true, they had used it to their full advantage, and Blaine could understand that. It was a basic human trait, after all. He hadn’t expected this school to be any different, so interest in what he could do was worrying, to say the least.

Despite that nagging worry at the back of his mind, however, Blaine was still moving through the corridors of the school towards Jacques’ room. Agreeing to meet a teacher in his own room wasn’t the strangest thing – he had already gone to one of them for tea and cakes while said teacher had been suffering from a hangover, after all, and that had been jolly good fun. This was… slightly different, he had to admit, but still. The only nerves Blaine felt as he approached the right door and landed a quick and confident (false, but still, it was there) knock on the wood were to do with where any talk on powers might go. Nothing else really crossed his mind.

This past Saturday SASCA (San Antonio Sports Car Association) held a Novice School event for autocross.  Skill levels ranged from completely new to the sport to guys like me with only 1-2 years of experience.  We had two run groups of 10-20 people each and ran around 10-15 runs in the morning and another 10-15 runs in the afternoon.  Morning runs were instructed and were not focused on time.  I had to learn to grip the wheel lightly, gives smooth but positive steering inputs, and don't jerk the wheels.  Later I was taught to really look ahead while driving meaning I should be looking 2 to 3 transitions ahead of where I was at and use my peripheral vision to get around the current gate.  Man that was easier said than done but I'm starting to get used to it.  I'm hoping this information soaks in and I'm able to build from it this season.
