Deidara: Danna, I need your help —

Sasori: I’m a bit occupied at the moment, brat. Come back later and —

Deidara: *bursts into Sasori’s lap holding mewling cat* This can’t really wait, hm!

Sasori: Good lord, what are you doing with that thing?

Deidara: She got into a fight with two other cats, hm. She was so small and weak, I had to save her! But they scratched her up pretty bad …

Sasori: *sighs and clears off a space on his desk* Set her here.

*Deidara sets the cat down and Sasori talks softly to it, comforting it as he gently cleans and bandages its scrapes*

Sasori: There, that should hold her for a while. *finds an empty box and puts one of his old cloaks in it, setting the cat in the box* Go and find her some milk or something.

Deidara: *leaves and returns minutes later with a small bowl of milk, which he places next to the cat*

Deidara: Aww, she likes it, hm! Thank you, Danna.

Sasori: Mm. Now, let me see your wound.

Deidara: My wound? What —

*Sasori goes to him and pushes up his sleeve, revealing a long and slowly bleeding claw mark extending from his elbow to his wrist*

Deidara: Heh; didn’t even notice that. Guess that mean gray cat got me after all.

Sasori: You seem to be remarkably unobservant when it comes to matters of your own body, brat. *begins applying antiseptic and cleaning Deidara’s cut*

Deidara: I guess. I’m … I’m glad you were here, Sasori. F-for the cat. And for me. 

Sasori: *smiles as he bandages Deidara’s arm* A high compliment, indeed. There. You’re all better.

Deidara: Not really; now all of a sudden my lips feel really achy, hm. C-can you fix that, too?

Sasori: *rolls his eyes before pulling Deidara into a kiss* Better?

Deidara: Mmmm, much. But you know what hurts now? *points* My thighs. Do you think you should take off my pants and make sure those cats didn’t scratch my —

Sasori: Get out of here and take that animal with you, brat.

*Deidara bursts into Sasori’s dorm room unannounced*

Deidara: ‘Sori! Aren’t you done with that boring crap yet??

Sasori, sitting at his desk with his head bent over books: What you call “boring crap” is actually the catalyst for my future as a rich and successful doctor.

Deidara: *groans* Why the hell am I dating such a boring old man again? It’s Friday night! Let’s go hit up a party!

Sasori: Pass.

Deidara: *hops up on the edge of Sasori’s desk* Well then can you at least take me to go get something to eat? I’m starving, hm!

Sasori: How are you starving? When I passed by the cafeteria earlier I saw you and that ridiculous roommate of yours gorging on what must have been six or seven food trays between you.

Deidara: Aw, that was just because Hidan dared me that I couldn’t eat more nachos than him. Proved him wrong, though. And anyways that was like, years ago, hm!

Sasori: That was less than four hours, brat. Look, after this I’ve got two more chapters to read, and a whole mess of essay questions. Go and amuse yourself elsewhere, alright?

Deidara: I don’t want to, Sasori. You never spend any time with me! Your stupid books get to see your face more than I do!

Sasori: *sighs and closes his book* Good god, man. You’re the most annoying, dramatic, attention-seeking person I’ve ever met.

Deidara: Oh yeah?! Well you —

Sasori: *grabs Deidara’s knees and pulls him closer* You’re also the kindest and most beautiful, so I guess all things considered I’m a lucky man. How about I order us a pizza and we watch a movie? I’ve got some new ones I know you’ll find really exciting.

Deidara: *leans over and puts both hands on Sasori’s face, kissing him* Now that’s more like it, hm!

*a little later*

On the tv, in a man’s voice: “ … and then the scalpel is carefully inserted into the chest cavity, where a four-inch incision is made along the —“

Sasori: Isn’t this great, Dei? And the good news is that this is just part one of a ten-part series, so you and I can have dates like this for the next few weeks!

i’ve been waiting forever for the opportunity to participate in a ship week… and even longer for the chance to write about sasori operating on himself. for day one of sasodei week i finally got to achieve both of my dreams.

full worm garden follows deidara as he becomes a little obsessed with his reclusive peer. he has no idea what he’s in for. for the prompt i went with university au. you can read it here (that’s right oomf taught me how to hyperlink on here)!! enjoy and i will see you tomorrow for day 2.
