Five times. That's how many times Porter has slipped up since becoming a vampire. He remembers every time so vividly it hurts. Now all five aren't worth mentioning, far too much to get down in one go. The first, third, and fifth are the ones that hit him hardest to this day.
The first was right after he turned. He'd woken up maybe an hour prior and he was starving. Starving and angry. Angry at the man that lied to him, angry at himself for falling for it. Angry that he hadn't had the nerve and good sense to fall dead after a brutal battle in vain
His mistake? Having the audacity to reach for a glass of blood that had been held out to him. The result of that slip up led him to his first invocation. Spoken in the most dangerous of whispers, the invocation was as follows: "You listen to me and you listen well boy. You will not feed unless I have allowed it. You're mine now dear Porter, and you will need to learn very quickly, you can not function without me. I am your God, your protection and your damnation. You do not act unless it's on my direction."
The third and worst of the mistakes was when he was able to go out to a human club to find blood. He fed himself, enjoyed a night away from his makers clutches. What he failed to account for was his makers right hand tailing him. The gift waiting for him upon returning to the basement he was supposed to be in? A beating in full force. His windpipe was crushed, his back broken, and his head shaved in horrible patches. His maker claimed that the blood he had stolen that night would be enough to fix him if he had the will to keep going
The final time was when he snapped at the prince of the house of Solaire. His anger with the boy prince had been growing since his induction into the house. His snide comments and downright disrespectful behavior towards the king who granted him a better life simply baffled Porter. The night they fought was brutal and long. They were exchanging sarcastic quips the whole night but the final straw was when the prince decided to go after the one thing that had been Porters saving grace. Joining the house and fighting to be the one William went to for aid is one of the most important things he's ever been able to do. To have that questioned and stepped on made him snap. He took a swing at Vincent. His heart hammering like a war gong as he realized what hed done
But the fight was still going. The prince put up more of an effort than Porter expected. The blows they exchanged bone breaking and painful. They were still standing at the end but bloody and battered.
And he was terrified
His eyes pinned on the floor as though afraid to even lift them. The words the king spoke after the prince was sent to recover devastating him. Such a short amount of time he'd known the comfort of stability. He'd been so close to making it work. So close to holding onto something hard enough it wouldn't slip away.
He should've known it wouldn't work. Known that it was getting too good
And now he's paying his penance yet again. Traveling the globe as a glorified task man. Praying for the day he'll be able to go home and lay his head down for a day. Spending every waking moment cursing the things he did that led him to where he is now. Wiping blood off of shaking hands with a damp cloth so he can report back to his king another job done
Another day finished
And another moment spent wishing he'd just faded away after that fight. That he'd been able to savor the moment of revenge so briefly before reality hit
If you’re sad when a baby cries, that’s understandable, but remember that crying is a tool babies use to communicate. If you’re frustrated when a baby cries, that’s understandable, but also a good sign that you need to take a break if possible. But if you’re angry at a baby for crying, that communicates to me that you shouldn’t be around babies. I think more people need to understand these nuances, as obvious as they might seem to some.
my biggest fandom peeve for ccod season is how everyone seems to interpret what the IH are saying as their own pov of how a small town would work coming from mega cities... when... i think that's the point they're playing with their characters? madelaine literally had a whole break down about it? and half of the stuff like "vegan place" are jokes. like yeah a 18k kind of in nowhere probably wont have that but it's HJ saying it yk the guy who carries a sceptre unironically
anyway everyone calling 18k a small town when i live near a place that's 1k people with only 2 multiple story buildings
sure its a different country but most cities here are under 20k and even then there's quite a few places to eat out and they have scooters and what not like it's 2026 the show very pointedly is saying how stuff is overtaking the town that would be found in the big cities but doesn't quite make sense there for the locals
"how is the population growing if there's so many old people" probably very very slowly and soon it'll be in decline for sure
How Umemiya seems to be the epitome of Suou's image of adulthood and a proper teacher/mentor
It is a subtle thing, since we rarely see Umemiya and Suou interact with each other, but somehow, Umemiya is surprisingly fitting into what Suou called "adulthood".
Suou's definition of adulthood and a teacher/mentor seems to blend a bit from the way he uses these terms somewhat interchangeably. Nonetheless, it is certain that he is talking about a certain role model. Of course, he doesn't just say them for show. Suou understands it and is striving to become the same kind of adult that he looks up to.
Imagination, experience, ability to turn imagination into reality
You know, how women talk
seeing someone be like Aw i cant believe chan supports seungmin ............................. thats literally his puppy but okay
