It's here! It feels like this has been a very short wait compared to other virtual pets. This thing just got announced last month and preorders were only a few days ago. Thankfully, this is not premium bandai. So they don't charge war crime prices, and you will be able to get these long after the preordr period.
So far it's very cute, i'm starting off with a little hairball like baby bigfoot. I appreciate the mini game to capture the little fella rather than just outright hatching from an egg. Much like all the Gigapets, the animations are top notch.
I'm not sure how to unlock the other cryptids yet, there's a manual in the box but I like to figure virtual pets out as I go.
Since Gigapets, or at least the modern versions from Top Secret Toys, tend to be very hearty and long lived, I don't know how long i'll run this one. There's three pets on one device so it's going to have a lot to offer compared to the frog, which I ran for 100 days before deciding to put it away. It never died, I just decided I had run it long enough ( and I also never had to change the batteries btw ), because it has a spooky theme and a nice orange shell with leaves evoking autumn, I would like to run it along side my custom halloween themed Digimon devices... but if it's really as long lived as the frog, I'm not as sure about that. Maybe I'll run this every year at the start of autumn. September thru November.
Anyway... as always, I can't speak highly enough of the new Gigapets, virtual pet fans, do yourself a favor and check out this lovely non-bandai device. You may just like it.
This is not a full review because it would be stupid to review a virtual pet, a very slow burn experience, moments after opening it. I could start spotting the warts as time goes on, but for now, my only complaint is that after pulling the tab, it doesn't automatically start, but you need a long skinny object to press the reset button, and it feels like you need something longer and skinnier than normal, like the tip of your pencil won't do it this time.... also I wish we could choose which cryptid we started out with. But those are the only annoyances so far.
Bigfoot fighting alongside Fidel Castro in the Cuban Revolution. Contrary to what the globalist media tells you, bigfoot was not only very real but she was also an ardent supporter of the non-aligned movement and other struggles in the Third World. Later, bigfoot would travel to China only to be arrested for criticizing Mao Zedong’s Three worlds theory as revisionist. He remains in prison there to this day.
Pride cryptids!!!
Had to take a break from "serious" drawings, and I've been obsessed with mothman lately soooooo
All bodies are beautiful, no matter how cryptic.
