I think as a small child I might've benefited from playing a bullet hell game like Touhou. I was fairly bad at video games as a child and part of that was weird mental hang-ups I had about them, and the simplicity of bullet hell gameplay would've helped. In a bullet hell game there's no such thing as cheap tactics or the "proper" way to beat a boss, no valor or narrative message contradictory to gameplay, no grinding, no particular way you're "supposed" to play; just a bunch of bullets and a challenge to survive by any means possible.
People will do anything to heat up french fries except actually frying them. And they like to say that fries made in the oven or whatever are 'just as as good' but they really aren't.
Deltarune chapter 5 weird route spoilers
So Kris and Noelle walk into the bottom of a lake. Everyone's wondering if they're gonna drown themselves, end up in the depths or shelter dark, or both.
In Chapter 4 Kris took a lot of damage to their light world HP. They lost a big chunk from fighting the Titan, and in the weird route they also lose a huge chunk from kicking their soul around in a trash can. On my save they didn't heal in between chapters and were left with 5 hp out of twenty. And then they proceed to drown themselves in a lake. We can hear the hurt sound effect.
I think Kris is going to die. They were already on their last legs in terms of hp and just did something drastic to lose a bunch more.
However, on the other hand we don't have any confirmation that Noelle has previously lost hp in the light world. Equipping the thorn ring might cause damage that transfers over to the light world, but we don't know that for certain and if it does we don't know how much damage it causes. It might only be one or two points. Noelle could be at full hp for all we know.
My thought is that once we boot up Chapter 7 Side B, Kris is going to die within the opening moments of the chapter. But in Undertale, human souls persist for a while after death, so we the player will be fine for the immediate future. Noelle, being at or near full hp at the time of the lake scene, survives. We proceed to take her as our vessel or guide her until we can find the discarded one from chapter 1.
In Chapter 4 Noelle grew a mysterious red dot inside her. Some people wonder if we are growing a soul inside her. Perhaps it makes her into a suitable vessel.
In the Mantle/Sword route game in Chapter 3, during the end of the ice palace section, Hero Cloak and Hero Sword get 'used up'. Perhaps this is foreshadowing Kris getting used up after drowning in the lake, and Noelle will get used up once we find our old vessel in the lake's dark world. The order of the heroes destruction would be reversed from the Mantle game, however,
Lesbian-Marisa fans, what approach do you think she has to her number of lovers?

She keeps to her polycule of 5 people or less
She practices ethical non-monogamy (1 primary partner lots of flings)
She is in a large polycule (difference is they're all roughly aware of each othe
She's extremely promiscuous as if aiming for a high score
She's a cheater

I was replaying one of the superboss fights the other day for one of my alternative saves and I've come up with a weird tip for Deltarune: if you're struggling with a boss, try turning off the volume. For some reason it helped me focus. My other main tip would be that if you're struggling with a boss, healing too much can actually end up being a trap because you keep using your turns to heal instead of making progress, so it might be better to go all out on offense. In terms of gameplay Deltarune is a bullet hell/danmaku game before it is an RPG, so your number one focus needs to be learning the bullet patterns. Also, if you can figure out the elemental attributes a boss uses, armor that provides elemental protection is usually far more valuable than armor that boosts your defense stat.
touhou 5 if zun wasnt scared of making a good game
Some days ago I had a most peculiar dream. There were two events in the timeline which I can’t quite piece together, and the second I shall mention is of much greater interest. The first event is that I was in a zombie apocalypse. I remember being in a large, open building like a mall which had escalators and stairs leading to raised areas. I remember the zombies flooded a lower area. I remember something strange happening with the past, I think I remembered a past event which was like the present and then switched to experiencing the past event. I remember running and jumping across, I think unusually narrow rafters over the lower level, with superhuman agility.
The second event is more interesting. I remember thinking about my past self, my self as a child, and channeling, becoming, relinquishing control, or perhaps splitting into or merging with my child self. It’s hard to put into words, particularly with my hazy memory of the dream. But I am 100% certain I was experiencing something which I had never experienced before. I had become plural. I did this because I had to, because my child self was stronger in spirit than my present adult self.
When I awakened, I did not seem to be two people or otherwise in a changed mental state.
My sister genuinely, for real, met her girlfriend at a meet up for retyping poetry on vintage typewriters above a feminist bookstore, and I just want to say I’m thrilled the manic pixie dream girls of the world are moving on from whiny mediocre dudes and finding eachother instead.
Bad news y’all they broke up but my sister learned really important things about life and herself so like, we really should have seen that coming.

need a bad sleep reset
this is a very delicate operation which involves not falling asleep until the late enough tomorrow that i can get a normal nights sleep
Fun fact, this is a treatment doctor's sometimes use for Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder (DSPD), and it's called chronotherapy! The idea is that if you can't go to sleep and wake up earlier, stay up so late that late becomes early. This treatment is recommended against by very many people because it carries of risk of you developing Non-24 hour sleep wake disorder (N24), which is much harder to live with. Basically, you can't stop staying up later than the previous day and your schedule loops all the way around over the course of days or weeks. Instead of having difficulty scheduling things outside of evening or night, you'll have incredible difficulty scheduling things at all. I developed N24 because it was the only way I could possibly attend high school, and now I probably can't get any job at all.
This is a lot riskier than it might seem.
Also, if you have "insomnia" a significant portion of people diagnosed with insomnia actually have Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder instead. Same thing if you're a "night owl". If treatments for insomnia aren't working try treatments for DSPD instead. In more jurisdictions than you think you're also entitled to legal disability protections should you get a diagnosis, but awareness is very low.

I've been measuring my body temperature for fun recently. I found out that my average body temperature is about 96.5 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a perfectly normal temperature for a Virginia opossum. Unusually low for a human, though. I'll have to try again with a different thermometer so I know it's not a matter of miscalibration.
