“I guess I’ve always assumed that if I was lying, you were too.” She shrugged.
Wayne Manor was big. Too big. She never felt like they could talk there. It just seemed like someone would be eavesdropping. The rooms echoed. The expensive wood floors would only barely creak, if an elephant walked over them. Aside from that, it seemed to her like she was born to be the black sheep, and why? Because of who her dad was? Because she actually had the balls to try and make a difference? She simply didn’t understand it. Then again, there were a lot of things that Gina didn’t understand.
Despite the weight of the words she had just uttered, Gina’s face wore a semblance of a smile, and suddenly, she burst out laughing.

There Lawson went, off to do something dangerous and potentially stupid and--
“Hey, wait a second,” Connor said in a rush, stepping forward and grabbing Lawson’s arm before the other teen could escape.
“I know it makes sense for you to go in close and for me to be ready for long range offense...” Connor flicked his gaze momentarily to the bow and quiver resting nearby. For once, he was cursing his weapons. But Lawson was more skilled with hand-to-hand combat, and Connor knew he was killer with a bow and arrow. He had learned from the best, after all.
“But you know it could get dicey down there. This?” He tapped lightly on the comms device in Lawson’s ear. “Use it. If things are getting too rough or if you just need a hand, I can be down on the street in thirty seconds, tops.” Twenty if he really was in a rush.
“Understand?” He leveled Lawson with a look. “I’m serious dude. This is part of that whole team thing.”
Something they were both still adjusting to.

Normally Emily didn’t meddle in the affairs of other, especially not when it came to fights. She was a damned good fighter, but she didn’t enjoy getting hurt or tired out, so she avoided fighting or killing when possible. She wasn’t afraid to do it, but she preferred not.
However, watching her current client from the rafters of the warehouse, she was itching to jump down. Despite the fact that Turner was doing surprisingly well, the odds weren’t at all fair. She drummed her nails against the wooden rafter, the sound muted through her gloves.
She was going to restrain herself and wait it out until she saw one of the thug’s planning to fight dirty. He was coming up behind Turner, holding a wooden board.
Dammit, I can’t lose my client. I still need to get paid.
Not to mention... Turner was interesting. His death would be a loss.
So Emily easily flipped down from the rafters and landed on the thug’s shoulders. He screamed, but not for long-- she used her legs to choke off his air supply, and then used her knife to take out his eye. She pushed the blade deep and twisted it, until he went limp. She rolled off of his form into a crouch, looking up at Turner and grinning.
“Got some troubles, boss?”

“Listen, kid. Let the adults handle the situation.” She shook her head at him as stood with her arms crossed. “Also, isn’t it passed your bedtime?”
@sassyassgrayson replied to your post ““I… I just… How did you get stuck on top of the chandelier?!””
Lawson looked down at his grandmother from his precarious perch. Frowning slightly as he shrugged his shoulders and tried hard not to move too much. “Are we asking questions or trying to figure out answers?”
Jen just looked up at him, flabbergasted and concerned. She crossed her arms when he asked about questions and answers, “Well to get you down I kind of need to know how you got up there in the first place, Ev.”

“No.... not at the moment anyways, but that’s beside the point. I’m just saying that everyone thinks of themselves as worse than they are. I’m being nice. I know it’s weird. Just deal with it, okay?”

Mari had grown up in a small village in the Bahamas. It had been just her and her mother since the day she was born. She always wondered about her father and it took her 21 to get an answer from her mother. It took her a month but she could only find an a dress that was six years old. But it was a place to start. That's what lead her here, she stood outside the door worried out of her mind and having no plan at all. I mean how do you tell a man that the 21 year old in front of him is his daughter. But she got a hold of her self and gave the door a knock. @sassyassgrayson
