Kyo x Tohru (Fruits Basket) ^.^ (for the ask meme)
When I started shipping it: Episode four when she goes up to speak with him on the roof (I need to finish five tomorrow)
My thoughts: PERFECTION. Love them together, 11/10 quality
What makes me happy about them: I love polar opposite couples a lot (usually), and these two really fit that theme well. Him being crabby and temperamental while she’s calm, bubbly and kind make them opposites, but they have so much chemistry and are just an awesome couple. They also remind me of Tikki and Plagg from ML (we know who’s who here!), so that’s another reason I love them haha.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Hmm... I haven’t really read any FB fics yet. I’ll have to soon. HOWEVER, if I see one that’s using their relationship as a reason to justify Yuki bashing, I will click away stat. I may be a sucker for Kyoru and ship it hard, but Yuki’s one of my other faves. (I also have a secret love for Yukiru tbh)
Things I look for in fanfic: To portray them both correctly, and him not coming off as some violent jerk. He may have some attitude issues but he’s not a heartless arse lol. I’d also like to see takes on him being friends with Arisa and Saki, and then their whole ‘group’ could be a team. (Also male-female BrOTPs are my life purpose)
Who I’d be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: For Tohru, definitely Yuki. As for Kyo... hmm, not Kagura lol. So for now, nobody for him.
My happily ever after for them: Whatever canon does. I haven’t read the manga yet (I likely won’t, considering if the 2019 anime, which I’m watching is fully faithful that’s all I’ll watch), but I’ll likely be satisfied with that. HOWEVER, in an AU verse, I like the idea of him becoming a karate teacher and her opening a restaurant when they’re older.
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Kyo is the big spoon, Tohru is the little spoon
Favorite non-sexual activity: I could totally see her teaching him how to cook! If we don’t see that in the show, I will be lowkey disappointed. But hey, I can always write a fic of it, right? :)
