Honestly bless your blog and your responses to aphobes... I’ve known that something was “off” with me since I was 14 and it took me forever to learn and accept the fact that I’m aroace spec because of all the hate that we get. So seeing you standing up means a LOT. Thank you for being awesome 💙
Thank you! Honestly, I try not to respond to them in general because if they’re going to change, that’s a decision they ultimately need to make for themselves. I will continue to live as myself unapologetically regardless. But, as was the case today, if someone reblogs my post with misinformation, I will probably correct them because it’s my post. Not so much for them, but for others who might see it.
People can change, but they have to choose to do so. I chose to stop caring about what others thought about my gender and sexuality and embrace them. And I chose to build myself up and reinforce myself to the point where now I have the mental fortitude to stand up for myself and others.
It wasn’t an easy task to get to this point, and just because someone chooses to change and become stronger doesn’t mean it’ll happen overnight. And accepting who you are is hard, and gaining strength when you’re surrounded by hate, misinformation, and just a straight up lack of information is not an easy thing to do. So if I can make it easier for others by stepping forward and creating a place of positivity and honesty, that’s what I’ll do!
But hey, that’s part of why I love mp100 so much! It gives hope that people can change. And it gives hope that you can change yourself. All while showing that doing so isn’t an easy thing.
Sorry, I went on a bit of a tangent on your ask here! ^^;
