one of my biggest issues trying to get into semi-indie species (satanic sweets specifically comes to mind)... owners often claim designs themselves/trade between them and co-owners. It makes it really hard to even join adoptable batches and it's almost insufferable. I had no desire to join S.S when literally the only designs left looked like trashy base fodder or borderline fetish characters. meanwhile the owners have almost all of the adopt batch / official design characters between themselves.

Abt the ask talking abt a species in which the owner would preclaim adopts but I cant be bothered to grab the link. The species was Devilish delights but it changed ownership and now goes by satanic sweeties. I dont know what the group is like now tho
