“Shall we?” Loki pulled the brass handle of the door open; a wave of chattering voices mingled with light jazz music washing over them.

The god watched as Captain America edged into the fancy bar like a baby bird fallen out the nest. Pathetic. But still, he had promised Y/N he would make a genuine effort to resolve the situation and so, here he was. Loki signalled the barman, ordering two scotch on the rocks before turning back to the blonde surveying the room with fear in his eyes like a repentant sinner in church.

“Relax, Rogers…” Loki whispered, his breath fanning his companion’s ear as he squeezed his arm. Steve really wished he hadn’t done that. The captain’s mind travelled to his dream; the leather paddle in Laufeyson’s grip meeting his taunt ass with merciless accuracy. Smack.

“Rogers?”

Steve’s eyes re-focused as he followed Laufeyson’s gaze, seeing a stunning brunette leaning against the opposite side of the circular bar; watching them with a coy smile. Loki leant over subtlety, warm lips ghosting Steve’s pink cheek.

“Are you tempted?” Loki whispered.

Cap looked down at the drink resting in his hands, his eyes flickering to the side as the god leant forward to rest his elbows on the marble bar. Jeepers, he looked swell tonight. His trademark suit was fitted to perfection, the midnight blue reflecting like bluebottle wings in the dim light; his black hair slicked back showcasing those sharp cheekbones that taunted him in his restless sleep.

“Look at her Rogers, tell me what you see.”

“A smokin’ broad?” Steve whispered dryly, his voice catching in his throat.

Loki rolled his eyes, beseeching the elder gods for patience with this insufferable buffoon.

“Remember our first lesson, Captain…” he leant closer to Steve, the scent of his cologne making the soldier feel dizzy with desire.

Loki watched as Steve made his way across the crowded room, circling towards the woman. Loki’s eyes closed in a grimace. He couldn’t watch. There was a collective gasp as a low splash emanated from nearby, followed by the sound of heels clicking away on the polished floor.

His glass of scotch swirled under Loki’s lowered gaze as he waited for the virgin to return, as unspoiled as ever. With a sigh, Steve leant against the bar, wiping his face with a napkin.

“What did you say, Rogers?” Loki murmured, watching him shrug innocently.

“She just…threw her drink at me” he pondered, before turning optimistically to his beleaguered companion. “Gee, do you think that means she likes me? I’ve read about stuff like tha-.”

“-Rogers, what did you say?” Loki repeated, his patience wearing thin as the promise of Y/N finally spread eagled beneath him tonight became a vanishing mirage.

Steve shuffled his feet under Loki’s piercing gaze, the darkness of those sultry eyes in the dim light making his stomach flip.

“I just said that I could see she was a fan of oral fixins' and maybe she’d like to get to know me better. That’s all…” he trailed off as Loki raised his hands to cover his eyes, a low exhale betraying his frustration.

“Hel, Rogers…you’re not supposed to tell them you know about their deepest desire that’s the blasted point of it-” he sighed, rubbing his temples as Steve spluttered excuses beside him.

Loki noticed the brunette had returned to the bar, her eyes lingering in their direction. Fresh lipstick. Perhaps all was not lost after all.

Cap’s breath hitched as Loki’s words echoed his dream from this morning. The paddle. Oh cripes, the paddle. The god grasped his arm tightly, leading him to the side of the room and positioning him roughly behind a large cheese plant in the corner; concealing them both.

“Stay here. Don’t move. Don’t talk to anyone.” he commanded to a confused Rogers. “Anyone. Not even the blasted plant. Understand?”

Rogers nodded.

Loki straightened his suit, rolling his shoulders as a green shimmer rolled across his body. In a moment, the wave travelled up his muscular legs through his powerful torso as he transformed inch by inch into the mirror image of the captain.

“Remember, Rogers…” he started, as Steve bit his lip in anticipation of chastisement. Loki shook his head gently, “Never mind.”

The lock clicked, a green light flashing as Loki initiated his plan. He would conceal himself from the brunette’s gaze with enchantment, cross quickly to the bathroom of the hotel room and encase his hiding place with a silencing spell. This was a terrible plan. But it was Roger’s plan, so of course it was terrible.

“Hi, stranger…” a sultry voice called from around a corner of the suite. Steve’s eyes flew to Loki, who nodded in encouragement as the captain gulped audibly.

“Why hello, Ma’am…”

Loki heard Rogers speak in a decent imitation of self-assurance as he slid into the bathroom adjacent to the doorway, cursing his decision to ever become embroiled in this scheme. He should have told Rogers his irresistibility came from his cologne and left it at that. He lowered the lid of the toilet and perched on the edge, a book appearing in his hand. And now, he would wait.

He didn’t have to wait long. The door creaked open a minute later, Steve’s perspiring face appearing through the crack.

“Subtle as always…” Loki muttered, as the man slid awkwardly over the threshold, stopping to peer back outside before closing it behind him.

“Lift the magic please Laufeyson…” he pleaded, brandishing towards his flattened groin, “she was feeling around and I…forgot.”

After Laufeyson had left him alone and frustrated in the conference room, Rogers made a beeline for his apartment on the third floor of the compound.

Cap’s suspicious eyes flickered from Loki to you, analysing the scene as his stomach twisted with dread. “You told her, didn’t you? Why I outta-”

Loki sighed, cutting him off. “I did, Rogers. I greatly feared that national security was in danger due to your ability to be utterly beguiled like a naive schoolgirl with mere words.”

“Everything?” Steve blustered, tightening the towel around his hips as he tried to sound authoritative in his current state of humiliation.

“Everything.” Loki stated, his eyebrows raising as a playful smile pressed dimples to his jaw, “Come now, Rogers there are no secrets between lovers…although I wouldn’t expect you to have known that.”

Steve stared ahead, considering throwing the basket of hot coals in Loki’s direction. It was tempting, but then…the paperwork.

“I trusted you. I should’ve known my onions…” he muttered regretfully, a frustrated sigh escaping from Loki’s lips. You felt one of the god’s hands brush your hair as he silently signalled for you to rise. You stood, making your way to the coals to pour on more water.

“Rogers, this is a little sooner than I had anticipated but the lovely Y/N has agreed to help further your education, should you wish. She agrees it is important for the team to…help speed up resolution of the matter in any way we can.”

Steve looked up from his lap, forearms resting on his thighs as he watched you bend over to scoop water out of the bowl and ladle it across the hot coals. Your own towel was tucked neatly across your body, pressed tightly to your chest as your hair brushed the moist sweat collecting on your shoulder-blades.

A loud hiss erupted as more heat sizzled through the air.

Steve was grateful the sauna was already so hot as he felt his cheeks redden. He turned his gaze from you to Loki, who was positioned to take up as much space as possible. His bare legs were drawn back to angle to the floor, hips spread wide. His muscled arms flexed against their resting place as they shone with a thin layer of moisture clinging to every curve.

Loki’s head was tilted back in relaxation, eyes closed and seemingly unphased by his indecent proposal; his dark curls hung damp with sweat as they coiled on the hot wooden ledge behind him.

Loki rolled his eyes, sliding back on the wooden seat and pulling you between his widened legs. “Don’t worry Rogers, no one is going to sneeze in your precious satchel…”

The blonde looked up at him with wide eyes brimming with fearful excitement. “W-what about Y/N?” he whispered, clearly cursing his disintegrating moral fibre which clung valiantly on in the haze. “She knows, Rogers” Loki growled, “she has...acknowledged that the greater good requires her sacrifice.” “S-sacrifice?” Steve spluttered, his hips thrusting upwards, sliding his desperate cock into Loki’s waiting hand. “Yes, Rogers.” the god whispered, “Tonight I am yours and yours alone...Captain.” Steve felt his breathe catch in his throat like the beginning of a sneeze, his misgivings forgotten as Loki’s soft lips pressed down to his. ___ “Are you going to tell me where you disappeared to last night? Y/N didn’t look up from the toast she was buttering as Loki slid an arm around her waist from behind, the communal kitchen bustling with activity at the start of a new day at the compound. “I went for a walk, darling.” he replied confidently, flinching as she turned with the butter laden knife pointed in his direction. “A walk?” she repeated suspiciously, searching his eyes for the lie she knew was hiding beneath his pretty words “...at midnight?” “I need to talk to you about something actually, darling I” “Good Morning, Avengers! How y’all doin today?” At that moment, a beaming Rogers strutted through the doors of the kitchen. He tipped a salute to those he passed, his hips jiggling as he made finger-guns to a bamboozled Clint Barton, impatiently waiting for his coffee. He paused, guns frozen in mid-air as he saw Loki standing nearby; eyeing him with sudden wariness etched across his brow. “What’s gotten into Rogers?” Clint muttered grumpily to Y/N from across the counter as he turned back to the misbehaving machine. “I have absolutely no idea, but it seems to agree with-” she stopped, the knife in her hand paused in it’s spread across the toast as her gaze raised slowly to meet Loki’s. “Oh my god…” she whispered, her forehead wrinkling in despair as Loki looked around frantically, pressing a finger to his lips. He grabbed the plate and ushered her to a table, seating her quickly as she began hyperventilating. He waved the toast in front of her, pressing it into her hand making butter smoosh over her fingertips as she began to cry. Loki rolled his eyes, his patience wearing thinner than the sweatpants Cap was wearing.

“Y/N stop this, do you really think I would break your trust that way? Forfeit your love to fornicate with that insufferable fool?” he hissed, watching as Rogers continued his jubilant tour of the kitchen, laughing raucously at one of Tony’s bad jokes. Norns, what had he done. “Do you know, I think I liked him better before…” Loki mumbled, as Y/N took staggered breaths, composing herself. “Last night I needed solitude to...form a duplicate.” he grimaced, watching as the features on his love’s face softened slightly. “If my duplicate speaks, I need to speak. It would have been...strange to do that in your presence.” he said, his eyes falling to the toast crumpled on the table. “He didn’t speak much, though.” he added lightly, before realising the implication. “So your duplicate had sex with him?” Y/N said thoughtfully, incredulity lacing her voice. “I can’t...how does that work? Did you cheat on me?” Loki saw her eyes well up again. He leaned forward and caught her soft lips in a tender kiss, cupping the back of her head. “No, darling. One of my duplicates died a horrid death on Svartalfheim; and yet I am here before you. They are not me. They are illusions programmed by my powers.” He looked deep into her eyes, willing her to understand. “So, if they’re not real...then did Steve lose his virginity?” “He seems to think so. So isn’t that what counts?” Loki looked towards Steve, perched on the counter with his legs spread wide, flexing his bicep theatrically for one of the giggling group of Shield analysts to squeeze. “I suppose he both does, and does not maintain his virginity” Loki pondered, “A fitting state for an individual like himself would you not say, my love? Schrodinger’s Virgin, if you will.” he smirked, before continuing. "But either way, it means that I am once again free to release the full might of my lustful energy on you, darling. And isn't that what truly counts?" Y/N rolled her eyes, leaning on the table towards Loki with suspicion in her eyes. “So... he thinks you cheated on me? That’s pretty brutal. Very ‘unrighteous’ of him. Super off-brand.” she muttered, her eyes falling on Steve who was now doing press ups on the floor with one of the analysts on his back. “Don’t be ridiculous, darling.” Loki scoffed animatedly, “he thinks he had your blessing. So play along, won’t you?” The god’s smile faded as he watched Y/N’s eyes narrow, her mouth twitching as words formed he knew he did not want to hear. “Look, my love – you said to do whatever it takes to make this end” he said, enunciating every syllable to buy himself time from her building retort, “and...I did. What’s more, it seems to be working. Look, he hasn’t had an erection in a whole ten minutes and there are women everywhere. And myself, of course.” Loki winked. "I guess you're right", Y/N murmured, feeling Loki's fingers trailing their way up her thigh as her lips flickered with a smile. She had found these past weeks almost as hard as he had, her need for him growing like pressurised steam. How he longed for her. He intended to take her in every way imaginable, until his name was the only word she could remember. As soon as possible. A brief cough from above broke the moment as Steve announced himself, a pink hue ghosting his cheeks as he looked down at the couple gazing at each other intensely. “A word, Laufeyson?” he said quietly, avoiding Y/N’s gaze. Loki raised his eyebrows, not daring to look at the face of his love across the table as he quickly rose and followed Steve through the doors of the kitchen and around the corner.

Rogers waited for him to catch up before taking a look over his shoulder; swinging open the door of a utilities cupboard and quickly thrusting a startled Loki inside. “Rogers what the-” he spluttered, falling against a stack of mops, a bucket clattering from a shelf to the floor beside him, narrowly missing his head. Steve grimaced at the noise, checking either side of the hallway before closing the door. Braced against the tenuous pile of unsteady poles, Loki’s stare narrowed towards the insufferable blonde; would the annoyances never cease with this ridiculous man? “Rogers!” Loki hissed, “What is the meaning of this? This is entirely unnecessary.” Rogers’ hand pulled at the back of his neck as he considered his words. Looking around, he immediately regretted his choice of location as the enclosed space grew smaller with every passing second. “I uh, just wanted to see you…” he said hoarsely, before clearing his throat, “I just wanted to say that last night was…” his tentative gaze travelled up to meet Loki’s disbelieving stare, his eyes wide as he awaited the full explanation for this undignified scene. “Look Rogers, if you’re worried I’m going to tell anyone about our little tryst then fear not. Nothing could be further from my mind” he said absent-mindedly as he brushed dust from the arms his black sweater. Rogers was silent. Loki looked at him questioningly, noting the strange heaviness of the air as the captain’s lips twitched with words unsaid. “Look, as far as I’m concerned our lessons are at an end. You have learned all you can from me it seems” Loki winked, “consider yourself schooled in the art of seduction, Rogers. Congratulations.”

He paused, waiting for something, anything, from the man in front of him to break this unnecessarily dramatic debrief. “Well if that’s all…” Loki trailed off, the tone of his voice laden heavily with intent. They were done here. He straightened, pulling the hem of his sweater down and fixing his tousled hair with a flick of his head, walking a few short steps to where Steve remained motionless in front of the narrow door. Loki stopped in front of him, their broad chests grazing as he leant forwards and grasped the door-handle behind the captain. He could hear the man’s heart pounding, the artery beneath his ear flickering visibly against the skin. Loki turned his head slightly, noticing the hitch in Steve’s chest as his breath rolled across that delicate soldier's skin, caressing his ear. “It’s our little secret, Rogers. Do you understand?” Rogers nodded. --

Is there going to be another part, maybe the final or the epilogue, of this story? I want more and I'm suffering for my dreams to come true but at the same time I don't want to pressure you ':)

You don't sound stupid at all, I'm delighted you were so invested and I really appreciate it, but also a bit sad I didn't give you the ending you craved.

I'm gonna get a bit navel-gazing writer here so...apologies.

I think you're talking about Loki & Steve getting together and having a proper non-ambiguous sexual encounter? Potentially with real feels involved?

So for context, the Schooling Steve series was meant to be a one shot challenge to myself to write something that was basically totally character and dialogue based.

I knew I wanted a virginal Steve and my typical verbose, sassy avenger loki and wanted to see how ridiculously tense I could make it without actually being sexual between them. And I hoped it would be funny, too.

Something about the ingrained mischievous nature of Loki being unable to resist teasing Steve as he reacted to him (or, his 'teachings' as Loki thought) just kind of grew into this will they/won't they sexual tension.

I don't enjoy straight up 'cheating' storylines, so having Y/N complicit in the ridiculousness was fun. Readers can look into the whole duplicate scenario how they wish, that's open to interpretation 😅

A lot of of Steve and Loki's interactions are seen from Steve's horny POV, so as readers we're skewed. He moves from his initial attentions on Y/N to jointly thinking of Y/N and Loki...then briefly the brunette, and then pretty much full Loki. We're never quite sure exactly what Steve wants. Because he doesn't either.

With Loki's POV, he's almost always internally criticising Steve or enjoying his 'light' sexual torment under the guise of help. Turning Steve on without quite acknowledging its him doing it, rather than the images he's putting in his head.

To me the whole saga is a bit of an escapade in farce and ridiculousness and no ones feelings are really hurt. Basically I couldn't see how Steve and real Loki (a non ambiguous ending) could fit that while keeping true to his feelings for the reader (which is how it was set up before I knew it would be more than one part 😁)

There may be an epilogue, perhaps. If I think of one 😂

There may also be drabbles of stupid stuff that happened in between the 'official 5'parts. Who knows....with Satchel the possibilities are endless.
