If you are always trying to figure out if the people around you have ulterior motives, then you need to do one of two things: Change the people that are in your circle or change the way you think. If your people are always up to no good, why are they still your people? Then you have to remember your trauma isn’t everyone else’s problem and everyone isn’t out to get or use you. You might just have trust issues and need to stop always assuming the worst from people. There are great people out here that want to help and either want nothing in return or they want a fairly proposed transaction to happen. That’s not motive. That’s life. It’s okay for people to want things in return if the lines are clearly stated. Stop expecting people to just do for you and give to you because you think they should.
