There's something very enjoyable about having car ownership and the ability to drive a car in a defensive manner. I've been driving since I was 16 years old when I got my learners permit and this year marks my 40th anniversary of driving behind the wheel as I'm 56 years old now. As much as I've experienced in my life I would have to say my cars gave me fulfillment and the opportunity to do things I wouldn't have if I didn't learn to drive. Unfortunately many of us take it for granted but I don't knowing my poor son most likely will never drive because of his autism and his seizure disorder. I remember when I first started driving I was extra cautious and I must say I have always been a defensive driver. I don't have a perfect driving record but I never did anything deliberately. I've gotten my share of tickets and a few accidents but overall I've been fortunate. I must say driving has become an integral part of my life and I don't know what I would do without my car. The cars I've driven in my life are as follows from most current to prior: 1) Nissan Sentra, 2) Subaru Legacy, 3) Saturn SL, 4) Honda Accord, 5) AMC Spirit I have currently 129,034 miles on my Nissan Sentra and averaged about 150,000 miles with each car with the exception of the AMC Spirit.
