Jarish (crushed wheat or groats) is a traditional dish in Saudi Arabia. Mostly, people who cook it are elderly/
It is one of the favorite dishes for many people and is a major meal at all occasions.
Ingredients:
4 onions, it is better to be white, to be chopped into small pieces
5 spoons of cooked butter
Salt
2 cups of Jarish ( crushed wheat or groats )
4 cups of yogurt
2 cups of water
2-4 red chilies
How to prepare:
In a Pressure cooker, put the onions and then put the cooker on the fire with butter. When it turns brown, add the yogurt and water. When the mixture starts boiling, add Jarish, salt and chilies. Then, leave it cooks on a low fire for about two hours. You should stir the mixture time to time.
