Audrey squinted down at the creamy white sidewalk, her hands clenched behind her back. She held a bright fuchsia flower as she walked along the path, sucking in her cheeks. Her abundant dark hair spilled onto her shoulders, the wind blowing the waves into her face. She liked the quietness of the park, it was a break from all the loud arguments at home or pounding music at all the parties she went to. Sammie was the only person who could brighten Audrey's mood nowadays, and just thinking about her brought a genuine smile to her lips.

"Sam!" Audrey squealed, spying a tiny figure on the swings. She ran over to Sammie and wrapped her arms around her best friend loosely, grinning wildly. "I missed you so much," Audrey hesitantly pulled away, presenting Sammie with the flower. "Cheesy is my middle name, I know," She managed a nervous laugh, skipping towards the adjacent swing.
