Hey, I'm a day late, but I'm here today, and that's better than nothing :D

First things first :

I'm staying away from youtube from now on. I will upload low quality mp3 directly on tumblr when possible, otherwise, a preview is always available on the mega download link for individual files ♪

I'm going to eventually start x-posting these on ko-fi, cause I figured it made sense, considering the work I put into this 🤔 DO NOT WORRY I am NEVER going to paywall my little project, but I will put a link for tips on each post.

Blümchen - Heut' ist mein Tag

There are two genres which summer reminds me of, and they are ska and euro dance. Blümchen fits in the euro dance box, if it wasn't clear lol. I was gonna go with her cover of Queen's Bicycle Race, but I'm gonna keep this one for another rotation :3 Plus I overall prefer Heut' ist mein Tag :D

D=OUT - 恋のバカンス (koi no VACANCE)

This is the first song that came to mind, when I decided on my summer theme. You may also remember this actually being from the 60's by The Peanuts :3

Koi no Vacance was the opening track for 登竜門 (toryumon) (though tbh i'm not sure why my cover in mega... huh... doesn't match ?? and I didn't investigate either lol, probably has to do with being a file from 2009 :D)

Also sorry, this is a youtube rip, I had set it for better quality, and yet it saved in 128kbps and im too lazy to redo it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ça va bien is on the album of the same name which was released in 1993

:) welcome back to this early 00's earworm, and no you're not getting the spanglish version !! (ngl, with how they were presented here, I thought they were Mexican, but nope, they're from Spain 🤔)

Aserejé is on the Hijas del Tomate album from 2002

Save Ferris - Come on Eileen

So yeah here's the ska entry i was talking about earlier. Also an easy choice ! This originally was a song from Dexys Midnight Runner, but I think at this point, the Save Ferris version is more well known 🤔

Come on Eileen is on the 1997 album titled It Means Everything

No preview due to copyrights and capitalism. (not surprised either, but you know that song :3 )

And another bonus, this month :

美輪明宏 (Miwa Akihiro) - 愛の讃歌 (ai no sanka)

We lost an important lady, last month :( it only makes sense to share what probably is her most well known song. It is indeed a cover in japanese of Edith Piaf's L'Hymne à l'amour ! (some of you may have heard the cover Kaya did of this song :3)

And if you don't use she/her to refer to her, I will fight you >:(

I think this originally was from the 華麗な世界 (i'm not sure how that reads and I don't fully trust google translate on this... I think the sekai part is right but yeah...) album from 1973, but this also is a youtube rip from, I believe, a more recent compilation, I think. And the same happened here as with the Kathleen song 🤷🏻‍♀️
