Siberia burns. Greece burns. Floods in turkey. Earthquake in Haiti. Kabul under Taliban. Afghan women left on the mercy of a regime known to kill women mercilessly. Climate change. Mass extinction of species. The after effects of the pandemic.
I'm 17. I'm supposed to have a bright future. But everything seems so terrible. Is this how the world works? Because if it does there's no use trying to build a life in it.
As a Puerto Rican 19 year old, white (yes, white) female I am so mad at USA for not allowing us to become a state two years back. Because while you all can vote for the outcome of your future and be proud that you tried, I cant. I can't vote for the president, but whoever wins will still affect me because as a whole, USA owns Puerto Rico.
I am literally watching the new helplessly with a million prayers that when I wake up tomorrow I'll still have a right to be considered an intellectual human and not just a "Latina sex toy" or a "job stealing Mexican", or an immigrant even though I have had citizenship since birth.
