The team of 30 veterinary students and 15 professional volunteers will offer free spay/ neuter and wellness care to more than 1,000 animals in these remote communities where regular veterinary care is not available. This summer, I'll be traveling out west to Turtle Mountain and Cheyenne River Reservations to volunteer in spay/neuter/vaccine clinics with a team of veterinary students and professionals providing free care for the animals in these remote communities. It will be a challenging two weeks with long hours, little sleep, and uncertainties about whether or not I'll get to shower at night.
My team is committed to raising a minimum of $425 per person for Rural Area Veterinary Services (RAVS), part of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. The RAVS program treats more than 7,000 animals every year in remote and under-served communities where there is no other veterinary care. RAVS also trains hundreds of veterinary students every year who share a passion to help animals while learning from dedicated professional mentors. On this trip, I'll gain hands-on experience diagnosing illnesses and performing surgery.
To support our team and the program, my teammates and I have set up a fundraising page, Crowdrise. A donation of $10 covers the vaccination for one dog. For $35 we can provide life-saving treatment for a puppy with parvovirus. $100 covers complete wellness care, including spay/neuter surgery for a dog or cat who would otherwise never have access to this type of care.

Five puppies are in danger of being taken to the Shelter where they will be put to sleep. I can't keep them, and I need help to save them. Does anyone want to adopt one??? They are small and too cute! I can't bear the thought of them being killed with only two months of age!! It wasn't their fault!!
