“New Family Member!” As of next week, I will have a new member of my family, and I could not be more excited! For months now I have been trying to adopt a dog, and last weekend someone contacted me to let me know that I could set up an appointment to meet Juliana this Thursday. Then the meeting got pushed back because she was supposed to have surgery, and then her surgery got pushed back to next Tuesday, which means that I will have to wait until Wednesday to bring her home, even though she was supposed to come home with me today. Everyone at the shelter was so kind, the volunteer who was working with me to schedule the appointment even ended up paying Juliana’s $70 adoption fee as a Christmas gift and they gave me the wonderful gift basket of donated items to bring home for her! Everything that you see in the last photo was in the bucket for her. I was told that she loves to play with tennis balls, so they gave me a nice selection for her to get started. I was so excited, I didn’t even take any photos when I met her. One of the volunteers used her own phone and took a photo of the two of us (me and Juliana) ~ I’m not sure if I will ever see that photo, but you can be sure I will be posting many of her once she is home. I just want to take this opportunity to think the Genesee County animal shelter for all that they do, especially Donna and the rest of the volunteers! Also, thank you for taking such great care of the dogs in your facility (which is BEAUTIFUL btw!), and for making this such a wonderful experience. 💗 PHOTO: @picturedetroit | Christina Shot: 12.18.20 • • • • • #DogsOfInstagram #GeneseeCountyAnimalShelter #SaveALifeAdoptAPet #NewFamilyMember #FurBaby#Mutt#MuttsOfInstagram (at Genesee County Animal Control) https://www.instagram.com/p/CI9UXFcjG69/?igshid=wz0l4qie7m59
